Advice On String Skipping
I've been having a technique issue where my palm has been hitting the 6th string making it hard to skip from 6th to higher strings. i mean, if its from 6th to 5th of 6th to 4th, its a minor adjustment but when it comes to 6th to anything higher than my 4th string, theres definitely no speed going on there. is it just practice?

Hmmm... Are you anchoring? It's just a matter of accuracy I think though.

Practice picking from the outside. Meaning you play the 5th string with a down stroke, and playing the 2nd string with an upstroke. It helps with accuracy greatly.
I believe this is how Paul Gilbert plays his string skips. -Dan |

The Guitar Techniques section might be more helpful.
