The Gates of Slumber
Essentialy a cross between Saint Vitus and Manowar, with a whole load of Reverend Bizarre, Rainbow and Thin Lizzy thrown in for good measure.
Suffer No Guilt was without a doubt one of the finest albums of last year. www.myspace.com/thegatesofslumber

Can you tell me what songs are on their player dude? Myspace isn't working on my computer, and I know that they've changed them.

I'm surprised they took this song down. Total win.

B-b-b-b-b-b-bump!
Listening to their new album, Conqueror. This is some really good stuff. Perfect way to describe them in your first post, Chylde. I'm loving the drummer. Very Sabbathy.

I love how out of place that song sounds.

HELL YES. Conqueror is one of my favorite doom albums I own. Actually, it's probably one of my favorite albums period! Also, their new album is supposed to come out later this year, but I haven't heard much more than that. Can't freaking wait.

Conqueror > Suffer No Guilt. Although I do love Suffer No Guilt. God Wills It is their very own Cirith Ungol 20 minute smasher! The new album will definitely slay...... having trouble finding The Awakening though

Can't wait for the new album myself, it's gonna rule.
I know it's old news, but in case people didn't know... "Well, it's official: after several months of talking to various labels we have signed with Rise Above Records... yes you read that right. Rise Above's final deal ended up being the best of all the offers that were on the table for us following Conqueror's success. Without going into the details it was the obvious choice, the fact that the label took such a personal interest in getting us on board was what sealed the deal. Now, I realize that some of you are currently ****ting kittens over this. I wouldn't look to put too fine a point on this: it comes down to a few basic things: access to **** like tour support, etc. It's that simple. Our next record is expected out in September and it's going to be titled Hymns of Blood and Thunder. We're just about 50% done with the record right now, Sanford Parker's going to be manning the board for us again."
