New album is killer, not as good as Conqueror but still deadly. Moves away from what little doom was left on Conqueror, just class heavy metal this time.

Agreed. I would say that this might be their most consistent album yet, but doesn't quite reach the highest points achieved on Conqueror and some of Suffer No Guilt. Having said that, this album destroys and will no doubt be high on my list of the best 2009 releases.

New cd is pretty good, seen em many times considering they're from my city, anyone heard Bob's(drummer) old band Amongst the Swarm?? Totally different than TGOS.

I've been listening to through their discography in preparation for seeing them in two weeks and Hymns Of Blood And Thunder has become my favourite in their oeuvre. What a monster of an album!
I doubt The Wretch will be anything short of brilliant either.

I got The Wretch for free with a subscription to Terrorizer.
I have to say I'm rather impressed. I'd written them of in the past as a band I wouldn't be into, but I kind of wish I hadn't now, as they seem really good. |

Life is complete. One of my favourite Samhain songs too. Should really check out more from these guys, Hymns or Suffer?

Both.
Hymns Of Blood & Thunder is more uptempo overall.

Well, it was more of a "Which one first"
![]() I'll give Hymns a whirl then, thanks.

New free EP. I've not listened to it in full yet, but it sounds very promising from the samples playing on the page. |

As much as the whole Scion things annoys me for some reason, they don't half put out some quality releases in all genres. Looking forward to listening to this.

Yeah, I know what you mean about he Scion thing. It shouldn't annoy me as its good bands and free music, yet you can't help but feel you're in some small way selling your soul to the man in return haha
Listening to it now I'm liking what I'm hearing. Seems to be a continuation from The Wretch in terms of the sound, which pleases me as I really wasn't overly keen on their sound prior to that album. |
