If you are looking for lyrics to put under riffs etc then id advise you listen to the sequence very closely and see if it evokes a certain feeling or mood that might give you ideas or a basis to start writing on.

Its fender and fender makes them and its gibson and gibson makes them....I would go with a gibson + marshall combination....alot of the greats have found sucess with the great sound that comes out

i love song writing, one of my favorite activities.

hmm melodys can be challenging i guess. i just fool around with my guitar until i come up with something that sounds cool.

you cant rush it though, so dont get frustrated.

4. Write some lyrics about sex. Be descriptive. (See the inspiration thread)
5. Learn to sing falsetto, it makes you sound very clever and it's easy.
6. If this is impossible, then give up and learn bass.

Haha number 6 is great. I almost did that, but bass isnt as much fun.

"na dont do that it requires more thinking power. just write the lyrics as a storey then look at them and play a riff in your head whylst reading and it shuld all come togeather"

It doesn't work like that.
1) You will lack rhyme
2) Your flow will be forced

writing lyrics under a riff is difficult. i just invented a riff today, got my friend with a bass line, and even developed something for the piano. its a pretty dark melody, i need something dark, but real to work with, but i don't want to let all of this good material go!

hi

I am also an aspiring songwriter and, by far, the greatest resource I have come across is "SongU.com", an online songwriter community and songwriting school. It is not accredited but also not expensive. Some of the best songwriters on the planet teach there... ::type

Lyrics are fun to write its just what the music sounds like. Like for my I need to listen to the song (without anything else. just the guitar and crap) a couple times. And soon lyrics pop in my head. Try to have fun with it. Try to fit it with the music your listening to/genre of your choice.

Alright, ive been trying to songwrite for a while now and ive been to scared to share any of my lyrics because i feel that they suck. well ive relized that the only way im going to get better is to have other people read my lyrics and give me pointers so here are some of my lyrics. Please tell me what you like dont like and how you think i could improve. thanks

i,i breathe in your air
close my eyes
fix my mind pretend to care.
you, you look at me
close your eyes
fix your mind try not to stare

step step through the door
try to sigh
see your mother like you never have before
close close the window
shut the blind
seal it off do not let in any light

(Chorus)
Why do we cry?
there is no reason why
the world turns our lives revolve cant resolve
the end runs into the start
you sit there so smart
you dont fool anyone
********
cry cry out your pain
see him there
see his eyes but you know he isnt there
he he used to run
he ran, he ran
ran into the sun
(chorus)
*********
climb climb into the night
the arrow flies
see it rise like the setting sun
breathe breathe in your air
hold it in
let it saturate your lungs
stop stop where you are
look behind
at where youve seen before
(chorus)
(Bridge)
stop climb realize cry step
place your bets
he close we chose
you and i you and i
never again i wont be spent again
never to soon
i was born to lose
*********
blink blink your eyes
focus on
the changing rods and cones
you are not your own
sleep sleep sound
rest in the night
fold your hands
dust to dust ashes to ash

dont make a sound
theres no one around
let it out
say aloud

again please comment and critic , also i still have no title for this song so im taking title segestions to thanks ill have more up soon hopfully they will get better.

^ Hey, this is posted in the wrong area. Go to the main S&L forum, and start a new thread, with your song name (or untitled) as the title.
That way you'll get proper critiques.
I'm a few days late to tell you, you may have already done that :S who knows

My only advice to write with someone, because you can throw ideas off one another.
