I bought the Z-5 and I love it, the amp just wouldnt be the same without it.

As if you would buy a footswitch. I made my own for about $40 bucks. It's pretty much two Z-4s combined, so thats a saving of about $350 Aus

I got mine for 40% off during a sale. Plus it looks damn sexy next to the amp. I figured I could have built one but I would much rather spend a little money and have a really nice foot switch that is virtually indestructible and is designed specifically for their amps, from a function and design point of view.

Hey all!

I'm thinking of going with an Engl as my next amp (seeing as I can't afford Mesa.. ) and was wondering which you would recommend for more Hardcore/Metalcore kind of stuff. Price range is around $1500 USD. (This would include a cabinet if the recommended amp is a head!) Also, which cabinet would you recommend (preferably a 2x12, don't really need a 4x12. Heard good things of Vader?)

More in depth description of what I play would be : As I Lay Dying, It Dies Today, Before Their Eyes, Haste the Day etc..

I really dug the Blackmore I had, pretty killer amp. Even handled my 7 string ok, which some of the more versatile amps don't seem to handle as well in the lowend. I'm DYING to try a Savage, I think I would really like that beast from the clips, friends that own one, and previously owning the Blackmore.

I'm still thinking if ENGL's the way to go for me, and if so, it's between the richie blackmore head or the fireball head.

Has anyone tried both out?
