I also think Cold Roses - Ryan Adams should be on the list. Please stop me if I'm talking out of my ass.

There are so many good blogs out there which is a bit of a problem, but GvB, TMT and BV will get added as they are amongst the best.
As for MMJ, personally I don't think they're exactly essential, don't know what the overall consensus of this forum is though, so we wait ![]() 'In rainbows' won't go up. I think there may have to be a rule stating that albums have to be a couple of years old - so next year 2005 can be added - and also a limit of 2 or 3 albums per band. Tried to limit it to two albums on the old list, so should try and stick with it, then you're not suggested (for example) Radiohead and then given four albums as a starting point and still lost of which to pick up.

the 2 or 3 year rule is a good one. by putting distance between the hype factor and the actual album you will certainly have a better idea of how good it is.

We need some Apples In Stereo in there, peepz. Like... oh, I dunno. Fun Trick Noisemaker, Science Faire, Tone Soul Evolution, Her Wallpaper Reverie, The Discovery of a World Inside the Moone...
I can't really pick. Let's have a vote. |

Yeah exactly, give it time to settle and see which are still memorable. Edited the links, also added in Elbo.ws which I highly recommend everyone on here checks out.

Yeah it's pretty much the same idea, always found elbows a much easier place to navigate though - despite it's crappy facelift over the summer.

I always got the vibe that 'It Still Moves' got the same kind of recognition 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' got..meaning it got relatively big and welcomed etc etc. And where do we stand on 'My Aim Is True', hmm? ![]() Last edited by WyldeGibsonPlyr : 11-11-2007 at 11:57 PM. |

I think Parenthetical Girls should be on the list. They is crazy good, though they aren't that big, and I guess, therefore non-essential.

Animal Collective, Of Montreal, and The Unicorns please.
This is a really good list though.

Ja, most def'. Specifically Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone by the Unicorns, and Cherry Peel and/or Satanic Panic In The Attic by Of Montreal. And go ahead and put Hearts Of Oak by Ted Leo + Pharmacists on there, also. I would say add Look Now Look Again by Rainer Maria, but they're emo. Last edited by K-Lizzle : 11-12-2007 at 02:48 AM. |

How about marking the albums that really aren't Alt/Indie with an 'X' or something? So that when people buy/download/shoplift e.g. Paul's Boutique, they wont expect a Indie Rock album. Just a suggestion.
