acoustic pop-punk chords

i wanna make a song similar in sound to spill canvas and starting line's acoustic sound. what family of chords work best with this type of sound?

i dont listen to either of those, but pop punk is usually just major/minor....

Haven't listened to either but the classic pop punk progression is powerchords in 1-3-7 in any given key

Surely both of those bands mainly use power chords...which are neither minor nor major?
