Not to sound nit-picky, this list has helped me tons, but Randy Rhoads played for Ozzy Osbourne, not Black Sabbath.
Other than that, this list is awsome! ![]()

oh yea. not really an artist's setting, but i have a setting for any fender tube amp to get a fender '60s blackface clean tone.
treble 6 mid 3 bass 2 and it works. it doesn't work too well with marshalls and voxes, but definitely worth a try. fender tweeds, reissues, hot rods, they do well with the blackface setting. sparkle clean.

setting for their latest songs, for small amps with an MT-2 effects pedal settings will vary from amps and guitars and tunings, but the pedal settings are pretty right on, just tweak the amp and make the MT-2 settings very little, you'll have to do a few hair adjustments to find the good spot MT-2 Settings Level---9:00 ;lower means higher amp vol which intern gives better sound for small amps High---1:00 to 1:15 Low---Max Middle---2:45 (just under 3:00) Mid Freq---3:05 (hair over 3:00) Distortion---1:30 to 2:00 Amp settings Volume---1.4 Gain---3.5 Master Volume---1.9 Treble---7.7 Middle---1.9 Bass---10 (max) ------------------------------------------------- Depised Icon or anything modern Hardcore works, setting for small amps with an MT-2 effects pedal settings will vary from amps and guitars and tunings, but the pedal settings are pretty right on, just tweak the amp and make the MT-2 settings very little, you'll have to do a few hair adjustments to find the good spot MT-2 Settings Level---7:30 to 9:00, lower means higher amp vol which intern gives better sound for small amps High---1:00 Low---Max Middle---10:30 to 11:00 Mid Freq---a few hairs from not using Distortion---1:30 Amp Settings Volume---1.9 Gain---2.5ish Master Volume---2.5 to 4.5 range Treble---7.5 Middle---1.9 Bass---10 (max) Last edited by hardcoredarrell : 10-14-2007 at 04:34 PM. |

Anyone got a decent John Petrucci tone, both rhythm and lead? I know there is a preset on the first page, but it didn't really hit the nail on the head. Also a Satriani setting would be nice.
I use a B-52 AT-212. The specs as far as the knobs and whatnot go are below. • All-Tube Signal Path • Tri-Mode Rectifier: Tube - Class A or AB, • Solid-State - Class AB • Overdrive Channel: Gain 1 and Gain 2 • Each with Independent Master Volumes, • 3-Band EQ, Assignable Contour Control • Clean Channel: Master Volume, 3-Band • EQ and Bright Switch • Global Controls: Volume, Low-Res • (Resonance) and Reverb

Shoot, I should have fixed that, about 50 different people mentioned it in the old thread. Would you mind fixing that Jof? PinkEdit: ^If the setting doesn't sound perfect right off the bat (which it probably won't), just tweak the settings on your amp. These settings are designed to be guidelines, not perfect for everything, so don't ask for one if it's already on there. Also read Xifr's post on the previous page. Another thing, there's a Satch setting on the first page. Ctrl+F please.

petrucci should be like, the first one on the list. If you use a Roadking, like myself, the settings on the list will give you Petrucci's exact tone for Train of Thought, Octavarium, and Systematic Chaos. I would use the solid state, Overdrive 2, crank the amps master but keep the channel volume very low. Petrucci uses a light scoop for rhythms, and more bass, less treble for leads. You might want an overdrive pedal. I find the B-52s really lacking in liquidy gain.

I got this amp today http://www.musiciansfriend.com/prod...ier-?sku=480063
So I want to know what settings I need to get a Children of bodom sound. I looked on the first page but it had Bass, tone and another thing that is not on my amp. My amp has 3 channels and the knobs say low, Mid and High, what settings do I need to put them at? |

Okay so i'm quite new to guitarplaying, and i see 'gain' alot. But I was wonderering, is 'gain' on the 'crunch' or on the 'clear' of my Spider III 15 watts?
Just asking because if it's on the crunch, it looks like not many players play on the clean channel ... |

i'm not quite sure if i get what you mean, but clean means that it's not distorted, just a clean signal.
gain at some point delivers what they call 'crunch' yeah. so thzt means the gain is used on your crunch channel. and no metal players don't use the clean channel much, but people like me do. Last edited by The red Strat. : 10-16-2007 at 04:05 PM. |

Thanks man, I'll give it a shot. And yeah, I have an overdrive pedal that I use. Also, I actually like the B-52's gain. Really smooth sounding. However yeah it does kind of lack the "chugga chugga" sound unless you're using an overdrive.
