[GP4, GP5, midi] Rock / Metal . C4C!

Hey all here is a metal/ rock song. I don't really think it's 'progressive' but that's the sound I was aiming for.

I tried to make the song flowing & interesting, yet still using somewhat solid song structure and make sure it's not too self indulgent.

Crit for Crit

Any feedback is good feedback!

thanks.

That was ... AWESOME, it was really dark and the way the piano flowed in and out of the song was brilliant, the whole thing had this great mood to it and I was really impressed.

7/4
luvverly.
just to warn you that stats show that anything not in 4/4, 6/8, or 12/8 do not get listened to by 'the general public' because they have the moronic gut urge to bang thier heads against walls a regular number of times per bar. lol.

Kind of a narrow minded, elitist way to look at music isn't it?

Anyway, on to the song.

In short, it was fantastic.

Really elegant, everything complimented everything else very well.

Your buildup into the distortion part was excellent.

It was a little repetitive and slow moving at points, but as long as you're either planning on having lyrics or some kind of leading melody over top that's not a bad thing at all.

I'd absolutely love to hear a recording of this one.

Anyway, if you want to check my stuff out there are links in my sig.

Pretty good. I think some of the rhythms in the distorted parts could use a little work, but I like it overall. The bass work was great.

coolio thanks for the crit, there is definitely going to be lyrics / vocals in the song. But in saying that I did want it to be a bit slow moving to make it seem more epic. If you know what I mean. I'll check out your stuff too.

EDIT: to burning angel. I actually like writing basslines more than guitar some times . I might even pick up bass just so I can learn some more.

oh, i'm liking this a lot

its very serious and rigid, but thats ok, cos you get very soft music around here

very good acoustic intro

good use of keyboards

not 100% with the distortion part, just seems to be too busy imo

also, a bit of a sudden ending

however, very interesting bass line through out, which i don't think you get often with that type of music

7/10 =]
