Possibly something from G Locrian, Gm7b5b9. Alternatively, Galt (G7b5b9#9) depending on bass/melody.

times up.
bit different here, but everybody should be able to do this-
Take the 6th mode of the harmonic minor.
Flatten the 4th and 7th degrees.

Tab this scale in E. (so thats E[insert scale name here])

1 - #2 - 3 - #4 - 5 - 6 - 7 becomes 1 - #2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - b7.

Code:
|-----------------------------| |---------------------------5-| |----------------4--6--7------| |-----5--6--7-----------------| |-7---------------------------| |-----------------------------| E - Fx - G# - A - B - C# - D - E

you have got to be joking me.

thats made me look silly.... i presumed Lydian b3 had a b3 not a #2.

it was supposed to end up dorian.

i need to find a good harmonic minor lesson somewhere, sorry about that.

That's the reason it's called Lydian #2, not Lydian b3. It has a major third, so b3 becomes #2.

Same idea.. take the 4th mode of harmonic minor and raise the 3rd. Name the scale.

there is a lot of bad information on the net-
http://www.guitar-dreams.com/guitar...19-exid-85.html
i read it called Lydian b3 and Lydian minor, both suggesting the 3rd is flatted.

i beleive the answer to your question is Lydian Dominant

^That page seems to contradict itself..

''Here we see the Lydian b3. The only difference between this shape and the Lydian mode is that here, the 2nd note is raised''

It's played over maj7 and lydian chords and has a major third, so calling it Lydian minor or Lydian b3 doesn't really make any sense.

Yep, Lydian dominant. Go.

i didnt read enough of it initially, but i did notice the contradiction. www.all-guitar-chords.com has it called 'Lydian Minor'

Here is a scale-

1 2 b3 4 5 b6 7

tell me any 2 of the following chord types-
1) The 9th (5 note) chord built from the 1st degree
2) the triad built from the 4th degree
3) the 7th chord built from the 7th degree
