To their other classics it's ok but.. it's the major hit and one of Peter's best songs and my favourite of Pete's.

Yeah.
Is the self-titled high on anyones favourites list? I like it a lot, even though it's very much the same the whole way through and it only goes for a bit over 1/2 an hour. |

Their best written song is definately Sure Know Something or Hard Luck Woman. Paul is great at writing songs. So is Ace. Talk To Me and Torpedo Girl are among my favourites.

I was born in '71 and depending on which "historian" you listen to, KISS and I are the same age. My first KISS album was Dressed to Kill and I liked it and begged for the first two afterwards. I posted in this thread way back when it started and I hope I don't repeat myself, but I loves me some KISS. It's my youth, it's the background music for my first dates, first tape in the stereo of my first car, etc. Not many bands born the same time you are and produce music your whole life.
Do they do some corny stuff at times? Yes. Have they put out some stinkers? Yes. Right or wrong though they're like blood and I defend them. LOL! BTW, I'm very partial to Nothin' To Lose, love the mixture of Gene and Peter's vocals. I love Peter's vocals. I also lean HEAVILY towards his skip beat/jazz beat drumming. Ace of course is why I attempt to play guitar since 6 yrs old these last 31 yrs. Here are some sleeper tunes that are just great. Love the music and vibe of them: Almost Human Charisma Watchin' You Ladies Room Makin' Love Hide Your Heart May not be sleepers to the people in this thread, but not as well known to most. |

But yeah there are so many good bands playing in Aus at the moment Marilyn Manson is coming later this year with Twiggy that would be awesome and Ac/Dc coming next year all we need is KISS to come.

No shit Sherlock. They just never tour Australia. Twiggy is an old bassist for Manson he is also know as Jeordie White. He performed NIN live at some time.

Disagreed. Nowadays they are ****. Back in the 70s with Ace and Peter they were one of the most amazing bands I had ever listened to. I don't know what the **** they've been playing at for the last 10 years or so. Honestly, the last good thing they ever did was unplugged. Symphony was okay as well. It's just not the same without Ace or Peter. Even Eric Carr was pretty amazing. But now, Gene is an asshole and Paul is balding and hardly ever plays guitar properly on stage these days. I gotta say though, Ace's solo album is one of my absolute favourites. The definition of brilliance.

I disagree with you as you are just close minded towards nowadays.
They are coming out with a new album that only the 4 of them are doing. This might be a great album. But it may not be the same without Peter/Ace but still the fact that they are still doing it is what does it for me and when they still do it it makes people look it up on youtube and go oh I like that song I might go buy an album etc... Then they get into KISS personally I think all in all it is good.
