Crews in Hardcore

I will understand if this gets closed, but crews are a big and unfortunate part of many hardcore scenes. I just want to clarify that this is hardcore related, and not concerning crews and gangs in general. What do you think of crews? are you in a crew? have you ever had problems with a crew?

I've been hit a few times by various members of Colorblind whenever they show up at Ray's. Just on the dance floor though. But they tend to be a rather large pain in the ass whenever a band like Hoods or First Blood shows up.

I know there's a couple of "crews" around here. I'm not sure how serious they take themselves, they pretty much just create names, and maybe a couple shirts. But they don't cause any trouble really.

However they can really tear a scene apart.

I've seen some FSU dudes at shows (Boston area), but I've never seen them cause any problems. I don't go to a lot of the shows in bigger cities though, so that might explain it.

X24X used to be the revered group around here, they used to hit a lot of people. Got a few venues shut down, stomped a guys eye out, beat up the agony scene. I think they are all plumbers now.

I probably sure its not acurate but there was a story going around, that at a tempe show an ex-marine dad was minding his son and his kid was knocked down by one of the xtwentyfourx member so long story short, he kicked all their asses. heard it was like a bunch of minions take on the hulk. those kinds of stories really brighten up your day.

yeah, that was FSU. Were you there? haha, going to see a band with machetes, it would've been a ****ing joke if they hadn't killed someone.

I blame them for Propagandi not being able to play the next night at the venue.

It took them three years to recover from being beaten up? Does anyone know why they beat them up?

It depends on the crew. Now days alot of younger kids think its cool to be in crews so you can beat people up in large numbers. But the crew that i've had the most interaction with is guerilla crew from Richmond (Down to nothing, bracewar etc). Those dudes were all straight, and wouldn't start stuff undeservingly outside of the pit.

But would they still start "stuff" underservingly inside the pit? The problem with crews is they always pick on the poor little 16 year old kid who never hurt anyone, if there's any chance of them taking any hits back then they'll piss bolt.

I heard a story about Thugsquad beating up Bury Your Dead at a venue around here. I don't know how true it is, but I think some of the members of Thugsquad are bouncers at the venue.

You get very little **** like that down in the UK. The hardcore kids I know are either dedicated or scene, we take no **** down here. It's pure, and I like it that way. ****, if it got too bad with crews in the UK, it'd put me off gigs for good, and that'll take a lot to shift.

Agreed. I've never seen any crews to all the shows i've been too, and I like it that way.
