I think one of the reasons the GBC oracle games were so great was that it really integrated every item well and they were fun to use. e.g. magnetic gloves, Roc's cape, cane of somaria, magic boomerang, etc. They were used throughout the game in a variety of ways rather than in just one dungeon... whereas, say, the Minish Cap, items were forgotten about as soon as you got out of the dungeon. So I see what you mean when you say the megaton hammer is pointless.

I've been playing Wind Waker a lot recently, since I don't have anything but a Gamecube in my dorm, and I left Twilight Princess at home. I really want to get my own DS so I can play Phantom Hourglass too.

Possessed Princess Vs. Link > Wolf Vs. Giant Hog/Wolf thing > Horseback Battle with Ganondorf > One-on-one sword duel.

It didn't help when my buddy (who was farther along than I) showed me that if you go down the well with a chicken then swarming masses of chickens would come peck you to death.

The forest temple, for some reason, scared me so much when I was 8.

It was those mother****ing wallmasters. You know, the things that came down and just killed you by dragging you up and eating you or something like that. If I had a fear when I was a little kid, it was that wallmasters would come and eat me.

if that's the only reason you want a DS, don't get one. phantom hourglass is painfully short, half the game is spent in one annoying-ass temple that kills you if you don't beat it fast enough, and by the final visit to the temple, you're so burnt out on it that you don't want to go in it.
