You all should check out this band. I just got back from seeing them for the first time at a local bar (they formed at my school so they play here often, I just haven't gone until this year) and it was an absolute blast. I don't know any of their originals, but they covered The Band's Chest Fever, Phish's Punch You In The Eye (which was FLAWLESS) and Space Captain, most notably by Joe Cocker. I will definitely be seeing them again when they come back to campus next month.

Check out these pretty amazing takes on the songs of John Lennon. The artists here are mostly Bermudian with a couple exceptions, such as the legendary guitarist Nils Lofgren. If you're an appreciator of classic rock and more specifically, John Lennon, you'll be sure to like this. http://www.doublefantasybermuda.com/shop/

Someone uploaded a recording on etree yesterday of Hugh Laurie and the Copper Bottom Band from earlier this month. I couldn't resist downloading it, so I'm currently listening to Dr. House sing the blues. Yeah. They opened with Mellow Down Easy!

EDIT: This is actually pretty darn good. Who knew?

I was just surprised at how good he actually is on the piano. I'd see him live if the price was right.

Dude...I'd pay Hugh Laurie to be my doctor if the price was right. I'd be convinced I had Lupus forever but...it's fucking Hugh Laurie...so I wouldn't care.

But yeah his piano playing is legit. He really gets into it too.

Those words you used there....I don't think it's legal to use them in that combination together...

Also I have all 15 seasons plus the movie plus the Imagination Land DVD(which was just fucking awesome btw. That could have been the South Park movie #2 if they wanted and it would have been just fine). I think seasons 4 and 10 are by far my favorites. They seemed(to me, anyway) to have the most solid consistency of good episodes.

In my opinion, Imaginationland is without a doubt the best thing Matt and Trey have done with South Park, and I don't think they will ever top it. As for favorite seasons, I really can't pin it down to a single season or two, but I think they were in there prime from seasons 4 through 11. 11 is an interesting season because it has a bunch of really, really great episodes (Imaginationland, Cartman Sucks, The Snuke, Night of the Living Homeless, Le Petite Tourette) but also a couple of mediocre ones and then one of the worst episodes they've ever written: Lice Capades. Since then episodes have been hit or miss though looking back season 14 was pretty solid overall, and it has one of the best episodes since Imaginationland: The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs.

Also, for the record I'm pretty sure I only have seasons 1-11 on DVD (stopped after 11 due to the aforementioned hit or miss episode quality) and the movie. I have Netflix though, which has every season, so I usually use that more than the DVDs simply because it's more convenient.

Virtually everything from season 2 was trash, but that's because they were doing the movie at the time and they said they didn't have a lot of time to devote to episodes. I agree, The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs is hands down one of the greatest shows they've done to date. Season 15 has a much better good to bad episode ratio than the last few seasons. Although season 14 had the Coon & Friends episodes with the Cthulhu and those were pretty funny. I don't know...I'd say seasons 2 and probably 5 were the major low-points. only the first half of 5 was any good really.

I thought there were a few good ones from that season, mainly Cartman's Mom Is Still A Dirty Slut Pt. 2, The Mexican Staring Frog, Roger Ebert Should Lay Off The Fatty Foods and Cow Days.

I didn't like a lot of 15. I have to say though, there was a nice stretch there from Ass Burgers through Broadway Bro Down, with Bass to Mouth being far and away the highlight of the season in my opinion.

Ah, I love 5. Towelie is one of my favorite episodes.

I think A Million Little Fibers was probably the best Towlie episode they did. Nothing like Oprah's crotch pointing a gun at you..
