Welcome any new members! I'm still a half newbie, but I've been here long enough to know this:
1.Don't ask to become a mod in the pit... or anywhere else.

3. IF you're new to guitar, don't post your questions here. Post them in the guitar and Bass basics forum.
For laughs, look at the demotavational(sp?) pictures thread and the you laugh, you lose thread. Just be aware they're in the pit.

Rule #1: No looking at a thread and deciding to say something totally irrelevant to the actual thread. That's spam.

Rule #2: No posting porn. Pretty much no nip or slit.

Rule #3: DO NOT under any circumstances decide to post the Lol wut pear. If you don't know what it is then google it.

Rule #4: Do not create more than one account. That's multi-accounting. Perma ban offence.

Rule #5: No flaming people. Basically don't be violent, nasty or abusive to other members.

There are loads more if you read the FAQ and the rules but they are some key ones. Also I wanna welcome you guys. Don't forget to visit the electric guitar forum if you're a guitarists or the gear building and customizing forum if you're a hands on person. Also you could go to the riffs and recordings section where you could put songs you've made onto and also in the classifieds if you want to buy some gear or an instrument or look for a band member. Also there is the site feedback forum so you can give feedback about viruses you've encountered on the site and suggestions for things to improve the site. You could also take a look at the songwriting and lyrics forum for help on writing lyrics and to join in lyric writing competitions. Also there's the musician talk forum for theory boffs. Then there's the band's and artist forum where you can talk about bands in/or your favourite genre. There's seperate acoustic, electric and bass guitar forums and also guitar & bass basics for questions on guitar and bass. Then there's the guitar gear and accessories forum for when you want to talk about effects pedals, amps, plectrums, straps, leads anything!
There's loads more like the promote your band thread so check them out.

clarification: the new account is permabanned (ie. banned forever) and the original account receives a regular ban (which is 30, 45 or 60 days in length, depending on how many times you have already been banned).
if you make another account while banned, it is also permabanned, and another regular ban is added to your original account. basically you'll be banned for a very long time, and it only increases the more you break the rules and create new accounts. so don't do it guys

Hello ya'll, I'm new to this forum, but not ebased forums such as this one.
I hope to enjoy, Learn and most importantly laugh with all of you.
I'm a guitar player (duh) and have been playing for 30 yrs.
I've played in Hard Rock bands which later became Metal bands etc..
I don't play that type of music any more much less listen to it.
I think it's great stuff and todays young Guitar players just amaze me!
I'm more into traditional Rock and blues these days and have been playing in a rockish blues band for about 12 yrs now.
anyway that's my story in short. nice to meet you.

Hello guys, grlz and guitar gods. I'm JB. I joined for one reason: to contribute a song that I couldn't find good chords for on any "tab" sites. So I spent a day with the headphones on and came up with a pretty good sheet.
When I tried to upload it, my Courier font got changed to a font that changes the spacing between letters. I think that's called a purportional font. In any case, it changed the alignment of all the words, chords and tabs.
Can someone tell me how to post this song so that the courier font and all the alignment stays intact?

Hello, Im Adam 28 yrs old, from Detroit, and I love to Rock, just not that good at it ....YET

Found an Old Kay 6 string Acoustic in my attic from my old mans hippy years (late 60s , 70s) Started learning to play, and have not been able to stop. 45 minutes every day for 3 weeks, I still suck, but just like any thing, I will be recording songs and fighting off the papparazzi in no time. Looks like some good info on here.
