Wonder why your GC doesn't stock them? They sell them there or at least on the website they do.

Yes, the slim necks rock. I have a 1965 "hagstrom I" (some call it a "kent"). I will add pics later, but here's a '65:

Have any of you compared the Hagstrom F-200 and an Epiphone SG? I really want to like the Hag but no stores around have one to try out. I love the sound of the SGs but they are yet another one of those rigs that everybody has.

I bought a Hagstrom Ultralux XL-5 a few months ago and really like it. It's basically an HSH "Superstrat" with a coil tap. The neck 'bucker really has exceptional tone. These Hagstroms have an "adjustable" i-beam type of truss rod, so they can get a thinner neck that other guitars. Those with large hands (like me) may actually not like the thin neck but I've gotten used to it. The finish on these is a very hard and durable polyester that is not easy to scratch. (Notice I said polyester, *not* polyurethane as is much more common) I only paid $300 for mine new and the quality is really nice, I don't know how something of this quality can be sold for this price.

It's kind of cool because people ask all the time what kind of guitar it is cause they aren't used to a Hagstrom. Everybody seem to be buying the LP style Hagstroms, and this model I got isn't as popular. I don't have an LP style guitar and might get a Swede sometime. Mine is basswood with a flamed maple top (that doesn't show very well in the pic). I was skeptical of the basewood tone, but have grown to like this combo better than alder. Anyways here is a pic ... the Hagstrom is on the far right. The one on left is my AXL Badwater (which IMO doesn't sound as good as the Hagstrom) and my Sigma acoustic which is essentially a Japanese made Martin:

I think you must contact Hagström for this. Their pickups are custom modified.

I haven't been able to do so yet. I'm looking to buy another guitar & was thinking about a G400 but really want a Hag deluxe/swede or Kramer/Ibanez/Schecter Super strat maybe. Some other folks on another site have been buying the Hags and loving them though.
Couple new pics of my F200:

Thats going to probably be my next one. The hardtail f200 is very cool looking.
How does it feel when you play standing up ? Does it neck dive to the floor like an SG or is it balanced properly ?

actually no it doesn't neck dive. Pretty balanced,it's a little smaller than the F20 or a Strat, alot thinner also.

I saw a few Hagstroms at the music shop and i want to buy one. I play Britrock (Kooks, Oasis). Which would be better, Deluxe-F or HJ-500

The guy who bought the Deluxe F swears by it & no clue on the HJ-500 though
The Deluxe has the same pups as my F200 and is a mahogany set neck. Couple sound clips of the guitars on thier website. You might check youtube also.
