fans of Cormorant should check out a slightly more doomish version of them from Italy

goes by the name Novembre, suggested albums are Materia, Dreams D'Azur, and Novembrine Waltz

Aye, good band, that Novembre. Add Classica to that list and you got yourself a winner.

However, I prefer Cormorant. [It's ok, I prefer Cormorant to a lot of things right now]

Fourth listen through Metazoa. I'm telling you guys, it gets exponentially better each time. At this point, it's in the 'unbelievable' phase.

Just picked up their album a few days ago and it's really good so far. I really love the guitar leads in Scavengers Feast...mmm same with the second song... Only listened to the first 5 tracks or so thus far but I'm really liking this.

Definitely high up on my list of albums that I need to listen to.

Uneasy Lies The Head and Emigrant's Wake were remarkably inspirational.

They will. It's a seven-song album, and five of those seven songs are known to be awesome. They'd have to really screw something up for that album to not be good.

I only know of three, which are good.

When is the question though. Basically, we were waiting all of '09 for it.

Also, Scourge, since you are totes in line with my music tastes, I trust you like Novembre?

I've listened to them, but they've never really clicked with me.

Also, check out the songs Xenoflux and As Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope (both are NeO). Those are the other two of the five I was referring to.

Update from Arthur on another forum I go to. Emphasis is mine:

Quote:
New album is coming along very nicely. Should be recorded by the end of this year. Touring in any major capacity we can't afford yet. We almost all have management positions at our jobs so it's hard to get away for more than a week at a time, especially considering we also need to take time off to record the next album. And if we take too much time off from work, then we get fired, which means we can't afford the next album.

Granted, that's still far away and very well might change, but if we get new Cormorant next year, I will be very pleased.

Edited the original post to include the band's webstore.

GB: trust me, it is worth buying.

****ing love this band, just ordered the mega pack off of their website.

Uneasy Lies the Head is one of the best solos I've heard in a while.

Well this is very flattering. Thanks for the kind words about our music, guys. Arthur here. We're hard at work on the Metazoa follow-up. It's even weirder. I think most of you will dig it.

Oh my god, you even post here?

I find that Metazoa is more and more enjoyable every time you give it a spin. The first 4 or 5 times, I found it to be rather bland. But the piratey vibe proves to be infectious and the melodies just plain fun. Then there's the atmospheric, textured parts. If that's "weird" and there's more of that, I'll be happy.
