Glad you like it! Thanks so much for your order. It really goes a long way toward helping us pay for the next album. I've recently started including little thank you notes to give a more personal touch. And since Greg gives us free stuff all the time, it's a no-brainer to help promote his work.

I'm doing very well thank you. How are you? Just getting through the finishing stages of another new song, and got the concept down for a musical experiment that to my knowledge has never been done before. Secret!

HEart and the Ages and Omnio are absolutely godly albums that I wish more people listened to. That way, when critics flail around trying to compare us to other bands, they could go straight to the source! And thank you kindly for the compliments on my bass playing. I put a lot of love into it. Sometimes I worry I overplay a bit, so it's nice to know you don't think so.

Definitely going to order the album, and probably a shirt too.

You can count on Cormorant's name being dropped by any music fan's name I come across. How about doing a show over here in Israel? Humus is on the house.

I'd love to one day play in Israel and I ADORE humus. I'll put that stuff on anything. My father spent his teen years at a boarding school in Jerusalem. Many crazy stories from there, nearly getting expelled for sneaking all the desks and chairs onto the roof of the building, haha. The reality though is we can't afford international (or even significant national) touring at the moment, but in the future perhaps.

And thank you for all your support.

I wish your bass a little louder in the mix on Metazoa, Arthur... but your vocals are crazy good!

Arthur you guys are from the bay? Care to let me know what studio you guys recorded at? Definitely won't have the funds to record at a studio anytime soon but would be good to know for future reference.

Ha! A lot of people say the bass is too loud. This is Billy Anderson's production after all, and if he's known for one thing it's prominent low frequencies. I think it might be your speakers perhaps? The bass seems very present to me. Glad you enjoy the vocals.

Sharkbite Studios in downtown Oakland. Everything including an engineer for only $375 a day. Extremely professional equipment and staff. Nice location. Highly recommended.

Well it's not quiet, per se, I'm just a bassist myself and want it to be just as loud as the guitars. And there's only a few albums in existence that I think have a bass mix that I really love.

(Which would be Focus, every Atheist album, all Watchtower, Ink Complete, Blotted Science's album, and of course Cosmogenesis, if anyone cares. There's probably more that I just can't think of right now. Actually, it's really good on Opeth's first two albums, as well, and Spiral Architect's album.)

I can hear the bass just fine, although I'm curious to see how the bass sounds through the Aguilar.

Any hints on what the special preorder package will be, or will we have to wait?

Cormorant played a couple of new songs at a recent show:

10-minute long one:

Catchy 4-minute instrumental:

They've mentioned have a 70's prog influence on the new material, which I can definitely here in both songs (moreso in the second).

EDIT: Here's another performance of the second song, at last night's show with Grayceon and Kowloon Walled City:
