Check out a bunch of Stone Temple Pilots songs as well.

If none of that is your cup of tea just say so and i'll think up some more songs.

Check out a bunch of Nirvana songs. Look up the songs they played for the MTV Unplugged. It's all gold.

"Lithium"
"About a Girl"
"Lake of Fire" (cover from a band i don't remember at the moment)
"The Man Who Sold The World" (David Bowie cover)

There are millions of metal bands writing metal songs, most of them in drop d or standard and almost all of them that have solo's.

I have been playing for 18 months. I like thrash metal and crossover thrash. Bands like megadeth, metallica, suicidal tendencies, and anthrax.

Great idea,
Nirvana is pretty good and their unplugged work was great too, but any other suggestions?

I've been playing for about two and a half years. I like classic rock and alternative rock, but nothing to heavy, nothing too much harder than metallica. I take privet lessons and while I learn a lot, we move so quickly that I don't always have enough time to practice all the stuff I learn. So I'm looking for a song that will help me get my basic skills perfected so that they are like second nature, but still be challenging. Thanks!

OK, I'm thinking of trying out for Britain's Got Talent in a couple of years when I'm better at guitar. I'm looking for some good electric or acoustic guitar solo or duet pieces that aren't technically too difficult, but sounding very impressive. Canon Rock is an obvious one, but what are people's opinions for things I should aim for?

How long i've been playing doesn't matter too much--i can play Rusty Cooley, Necrophagist, and stuff of that caliber, so basically anything goes. I'm just looking for some very challenging Metal to play, as while Necrophagist is fun and all, i'd like to add some variety. If anyone knows any Melodic Death Metal that's quite technically challenging that would be great but I'm fine with anything. Thanks.

Thanks a hear. That helped, and I sort of got a progression from the shortened themed version. I'm listening to the full version now.

I've played for two years, and am looking for something intermediate on acoustic guitar - something melodic, and preferably emotive. Thanks in advance

Hi could someone suggest a song for me?

I would prefer an acoustic song OR an acoustic version of the song.
I've been playing for a year, I can tremelo and.....
I play mostly alt. rock or reggae, rock is good as well

I'm looking for something tough, I just learned Dust In the Wind by Kansas and Behind Blue Eyes by The Who and they were both quite easy, but fun! So songs like those (fingerpicked) would be awesome as long as they are hard.

I'm looking for something to improve my skill, something I'll need to practice for more than 10 minutes before i have it down.

Thanks
