If you're talking about resetting everything in your profile and starting over, you have to do it all manually. If you don't understand something about that then leave another comment here and I will help you.

If you actually want to delete the whole thing and erase it from existence, there's nothing that can be done about that. A moderator could give you a permanent ban, but that's all that can be done.

You also cannot change your username once you've created an account.

I'm pretty sure deleting your profile is a no go and I'm positive that getting a new username is next to impossible.

*bends over and looks through legs* Where did you come from?

you can't delete your profile/account or get a new username. if you make a new account you'll be banned.

That's a shame. I'd like to squeeze a D into my username just so it's the same as pretty much every other forum I'm signed up to.

You can delete each of them one at a time.

is sharing accounts allowed then?

what else can you do if you have a shared computer and more then one person in the family wants to use this site's forums?
after one makes an account the rest will be banned.

PM a mod before creating the separate accounts.

it should be ok as long as you inform them beforehand.

it's kind of lame how if a friend comes to your house and logs on to this site on your computer, both of you get banned for multiple accounts.

I logged on at school once.. now if somebody else logs on there I'll probably get banned.

pretty stupid.

mods don't do random IP searches and one coinciding IP won't get you banned.

seems like it though.. if an account is made from the same IP then they will be :X

seems like just logging on would do the same.

what they should do is give you like a box in your settings that has like your home-ip in it.
then you could do whatever.
if a friend used your computer often then they could see it was a different user and crap.

the majority of people's IPs change regularly and so that suggestion would be useless anyway. not to mention you could just lie.

logging in from the same computer once won't usually result in a ban because mods have common sense

I'll try to make this as clear as possible:

Each person is allowed one account here.

You don't get banned because you happen to post from the same place as someone else.

If more than one person is using UG from the same place they can each use their own account. We can make a note on your record of any other accounts being used if you PM a mod the information - this is usually done when people have a sibling who wants to make/use an account from the same computer.

We don't change usernames - it's harder to keep track of who's who, if we change one, lots of people will want it done and only admins can do it - changing loads of usernames would be a waste of their time.

One of our stricter rules is that individuals are only allowed one account. You don't need more than one and people abuse them - to get round bans, rate their own tabs, back themselves up in arguments, vote in polls etc. It sounds and is sad, but people do it.

^ ok thanks

and as someone said IPs change often so how do people know when it's the same person on another account out of curiosity?

Haha... There are numerous ways we can tell but I'm not going to explain since it would basically be a 'how to make a multi and get away with it' guide.

i've seen this same sort of question asked in the dungeon before, with a reply similar to yours.

... but a slightly less jovial tone.
