Every song off of The Inner Mounting Flame, best ones being:

Meeting of the Spirits
The Noonward Race
A Lotus On Irish Streams

Off of Birds of Fire:

Birds of Fire
Celestial Terrestial Commuters
Hope

and Dreams, off of The Lost Trident Sessions.

Miles Ahead in particular, but I enjoy most of Birds of Fire (the cd).

Even if it is quite sloppy at times (in my opinion).

Personally I don't think the later line ups could ever compare to the original. Even Ponty doesn't touch Jerry Goodman with them in my opinion. Not to mention the absence of Billy Cobham.

I like the Trident Sessions the best. You can't go wrong with any of their work, the best band of that genre, IMO.

Oh Mahavishnu... what an amazing band.

Oh right, songs.
One Word from Birds of Fire
of course, Meeting of the Spirits and Dance of Maya
Open Country Joy from Birds of Fire
Awakening for Inner Mounting Flame

If you really get into this kind of music, its hard to find really bad songs in mahavishnu's catalog.

Birds of Fire is a good album.

I still haven't figured out how the hell McLaughlin plays some of that stuff.
