Granted, I do have the flu, so my kvlt emotions are all out of whack, but...

This is why I hate not being able to be as regular on UG as I was.

How did I miss this? It's, honestly, the most depressing news I could think to read for this year. Something I never thought would happen, has. It's like a death in the family.

Of course, it's too little too late, but I'll do myy damndest to buy a few more things before their shutdown. Any support is, I'm sure, appreciated, but now I just feel bad.

Definitely, but still.

Though, after looking at the extent they're trying to maintain it, it makes everything a TINY bit more easy to deal with.

Though, out of all of this, I see at the bottom of the blog post in that article that they're going to be reissuing/repressing "Until Your Heart Stops", "Jupiter", and "Conqueror".

So.

Many.

Boners.

I'll definitely be donating. If I had an extra hundo floating around, I'd get that 30 CD Grab Box, but I'll probably settle on the 3 CD Grab Bag, that big screen print, and a bunch of the smaller things, like the $5-9 things.

Still SO sad about all of this. Truly some of the saddest news I've come across this year...

I'd drop that money in a heartbeat. I want it so bad.

I think he's doing what he can to get all the financial stuff taken care of as quickly as possible.

I just discovered this independent post/prog band, The Mire. I have no idea whether they've been mentioned in here before, but noneless, they rock.

Check out their full discography (which they are giving away for free [name your price]) on bandcamp here: http://themire.bandcamp.com/

New Cult of Luna is great. Kind of a different vibe compared to their last few but it definitely hits the spot.

So, I kinda sorta have the best girlfriend ever.

She ordered me a bunch of the stuff from the Hydra Head 'Hydra Health' page for Christmas.

Well, it missed Christmas, and it just got here today. Regardless, it is one of the greatest gifts I've ever received.

Remember, when you purchased the grab bags of full label, or promo, CDs from the page, it was all at random, and just a bunch of different CDs put in a box. I got:

(sorry for the super crap picture, my phone couldn't take a clear picture. )

1. Hydra Head logo shirt (fucking awesome)
2. "Songs for Singles" - Torche
3. Stephen Brodsky's 'Octave Museum'
4. "Conqueror"- Jesu (!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Such a huge band in my life, and it came at random)
5. An ad card for Tom Kaczynski's upcoming book "Trans Terra"
6. sick ass Hydra Head bumper sticker
7. "The Black Ribbon Award" - Stove Bredsky (promo) (Stephen Brodsky's side project)
8. "A Gate Through Bloodstained Mirrors" - Xasthur (promo) (!!!!)
9. "There is Nothing New Under the Sun +" Coalesce (promo)
10. "Mantrapping for Sport and Profit" - Scissorfight poster
11. 5-pack of Hydra Head buttons (I want them on everything)
12. "Keelhaul's Triumphant Return to Obscurity" - Keelhaul (it just came in a simple white windowed sleeve. It's a picture of head cheese )

It's, pretty much, the greatest gift I've ever received.

I'm going to order more 3 CD grab bags soon, if I can, because if those three were just picked at random, I can't imagine what else I'll get.

It still baffles me why labels like Enemies List and Hydra Head bought into Xasthur, but cool haul regardless.

Everyone who frequents this thread should go and listen to the Ensemble Pearl album. It's a new group featuring Stephen O'Malley, Atsuo, Michio Kurihara and a bunch of others, and it's fucking awesome.

Kinda sounds like a mix of new Earth, old Boris and the more accessible Sunn O))) stuff. Seriously, go listen!
