Hey guys, a quick question. I've had my LTD F-401 for a good while (wonderful guitar, of course) but I can't find a freaking case to fit it. Even the F-series mold from ESP doesn't fit it or the F-100. I really hate carrying it in a gig bag, so does anyone in the know know a case that will for sure fit it? Thanks in advance.

Not necessarily better, just different. I was looking for a slightly raspier sound from the 401 and I transferred the '59/JB to a LP Custom which I'm now using when playing bluesy stuff.

I'd personally go for the V-400 or 401, but yea, the 200 series has some great guitars in it.

The 401 series was only released this year. The 400 series is the older one. So... it's no more than like 6-8 months old Also, I used to know how to read their serial numbers. I'll look it up again and get back to here.

I think I'm gonna get a esp mh-50. Definately a step up from my ibanez roadstar II but this deal isn't written in stone. Do you think I should get it?

Nice, Thats good to hear, the listing for it says it is in really good condition aswell, so if it is then i've got a good deal
I was planning on getting the ESP LTD MH 401 NT, new. But saw the floyd version used and just got it because it was cheaper. How good is the floyd on it? It will still be working well now after a years worth of use won't it?

New new FR 1000 series and special are "okay". Probably on the level of the JAckson licensed trems, so you'll probably be good for longer than say an Ibanez Edge III, but if it starts wearing down it'll be time for a replacement.

I have replaced the strings and set the brindge up now. The only problem I have with it is that there is bad fretbuzz pretty much everywhere and the neck pick up wobbles :S

Raise the two big bolts that the knife edges of the trem rest against until you get no buzz, and use a $1 depth gauge from Radio Shack to test the height of them and get them even. Check the neck, make sure it's almost arrow straight with just the slightest amount of relief, then slowly lower both bolts by about a mm until the action is as low as you want with no buzz.

Lower the neck pickup until it doesn't wobble any more, very slightly. Make sure it's level too.

Hey I'm looking to get a new guitar for xmas, considering about five different ones right now, two of which are the LTD FX260 and EX 401. Are there any major differences between these two? I haven't played either but the specs look the same.
