Glad to see this thread is alive.
to those who made it happen.See my sig for clips if anyone's interested. Also I have some tips regarding pedal order: I find my wah gets a much larger sweep post-overdrive. However the tone changes; I can't really describe it. Just try it yourself if you have these two. As well, I find my whammy works best when it's closest in the chain to the guitar (i.e. at the very beginning) but again mix and match as you please. DO NOT put the whammy in the effects loop - it sucks tone harder than an 8-year-old with a lollipop.

Order of importance of mods, in my opinion :
1) Dummy jack in output 1 / patch cable in effects loop 2) Speaker swap 3) OD pedal These first 3 are what I would call 'to-do immediately after purchase of the amp'. The next ones are things you can do during the time you own it. Keep in mind that the more expensive things, like OD and EQ pedals will probably be part of your gear forever. Even the speakers you can use in other cabs if you ever buy a new amp. 4) Master Volume (volume pedal, Suck Knob, or Volume Box, etc...) 5) EQ pedal 6) Tube swap 7) Reverb pedal (maybe) anything I forgot?

^ I'm liking the Master Volume idea. Any stomp box volume controls out there that you can reccomend? I'd rather have a one switch box than an expression pedal to be honest.

Has anyone tried the Eurotubes JJ retube kits for the valveking? I was thinking of getting the high gain option, as my birthday is coming up and my dad would be happy to only spend 80 bucks.

You know, I tried the valveking dead stock and I kinda liked it. I dunno, the lead channel just sounded like it needed to be a little crisper imo.
Honestly, the vk is a good amp. |

This thread is looking good
![]() Just a couple of things TOILETHERO; Can you remove the colour formatting on the clipz and EQ Settings titles, 'cos us UG black users now have near invisible sub headings, and now that you have that part of the OP I'm afraid it's up to you to update for the clips and EQ settings. In one way, it's good having seperate users with parts of the OP because they can be updated more regularly ![]() |

You can't really. I suppose you could with the FX loop out but it wouldn't be a very nice tone.

Tip: try the outer of the speaker cone, as close in as you can get it. What mic are you using?

Done, no problem just tell whoever has any clips and settings they want to provide to let me know. Also i think that we should include EQ Pedal settings as well if that's possible. ![]() |

Cool. Go for it, the more info the better. Rajouta has dome settings linked in his sig if you want to use those.
