Oh, so I turn the gain all the way down, and volume all the way up with Dist on the amp?

Here is my settings: clean channel with brightness, Treble 3, Middle 3, Bass 8. and I use it a Marshall GV-2 Guv'nor with Bad Monkey , to get Bad Monkey as boost pedal.

Rhythm is great! even without bad Monkey. But in solos, any sugestion to get more gain, and sustain? Maybe need a boost pedal, to replace bad monkey

Oh gosh. Now there are three options:
Digitech Bad Monkey
Ibanez TS9
Boss SD-1
I'm stuck!

Yes. The pedal increases the signal volume coming from your guitar without alterations. (other than compression, mid-boost and some bass cut inherent to tubescreamer type pedals. Dedicated clean boost pedals also exist with no compression, boosts nor cuts) Louder the signal that arrives your preamp, earlier it distorts and more distortion headroom you have as you turn the gain higher.

Digitech Bad Monkey and Ibanex TS9 are pretty much same pedals, only thing is that Bad Monkey has dedicated Low and High EQ knobs while standard TS only has Tone control, basically making Bad Monkey more versatile if you want to use your pedals EQ.

Boss we already covered. And then there is Joyo Vintage Overdrive, a chinese clone of Tubescreamer. And then there is Maxon OD808. And then there is...

In case you didnt realise allready, Tubescreamer is propably the most copied pedal out there. AFAIK almost every single pedal that goes by the name "Overdrive" is somehow based on Tubescreamer schematics, with few alterations here and there. But they should all work as Clean boosts, no huge differences. Same midboost, same bass cut and same compression.

I'm getting a horrible noise when I change channels (both ways). It sounds like a distorted wave crashing. It's only when I'm using my channel selector. Any ideas?

Uh... have you modded it at all? That's really all I can think of. Do you mean your footswitch?

Unmodded. The noise occurs even when both channels are turned off. The noise reduces when I turn the reverb down, but I can still hear it when the reverb is fully off.
It doesn't happen when I change using the button.

Make sure the footswitch cable is plugged in all the way

Yep, defiantly is. It's been doing this for a few months now. Is it possible the reverb tube has gone microphonic? Not even sure the reverb is tubed on these.

No reverb tube on this amp. check to see if the footswitch cable is dirty or there's a bad connection inside it? It might be a short of some kind

Cheers Chris. Will do & report back later tonight! It's like a static reverby noise.

Nothing wrong with the connections. Could it be the switches themselves? It appears to get louder the harder I stamp on them.

Hm... Do you have any other switches you can test it with? I think it's a TRS, and the tip controls the boost and the ring changes channels

Nope, no other switches yet. I'll try one if I'm ever gigging with somebody who has one.

So it is just an issue with the foot switch?

1x12 or 2x12?

Either way your best bet would be Jet City cabs. I really like my single speaker one. For few pounds more though could get you Harley Bentons G212 Vintage with Celestion V30 speakers.
