I haven't heard the group's material prior to 'Wicked Maiden', though if it is on par with that album, then I would certainly agree with you since it's a particularly good album. Having spoken with him, I think it's great that despite his bad start in life (the suicide of his parents), he's done something good with himself, something that not all do.

Seems like a cool guy. Not particularly a fan of older sounding music but I'll probably check this out sometime.

I had never heard of this guy until a couple of years ago. My friend introduced me to him, describing his playing as "He plays so fast that he is shit!" And I couldn't agree more. This guy is nothing more than a guy who has memorised scales and learnt to play them at such a ridiculous speed that you can literally hear nothing else but a constant drilling noise coupled with the sound of the pick. Slow it down dude and maybe put a bit of feeling into it...this is IS So Fast He Is SHIT!

Joe Satriani could take a lesson from this guy as far as giving people the benefit of the doubt goes.
His music is kind of meh, but he brought up some really good points in that interview, especially this one:
"You set out to ensure that every album track is great, though you don't know whether you achieve this."

However, his incessant use of the word "track" annoys the piss out of me, as does his wanky shred. Don't like his music, but really good interview.

actually, he was in his early 20's, born september 25, 1964 i believe. he started the band when he was a teenager, about 18. some sources say he was born in the mid 70's, including wikipedia, but he was not. he is, however, a brilliant passionate musician, and stand in line is awesome! hope to hear wicked maiden soon!

after you get a copy of Wicked Maiden you'll come back and edit that to THE fastest shredder alive.

i sh!t you not; listening to wicked maiden, anyone who can hear what hes doing, (not the novice guitar players) and not just pass it all of as 'useless shred' or 'wanking', will probably find themselves asking the question "is this the best playing ever?"

i'm a Becker fan and Perucci and all, but this is insaine what he does.. check it out.

I applaud this guy's skills and ridiculous playing, but I have to say the "tracks" that supposedly came first are not that great. It's weird because some of it, like the vocals, are overproduced soft and shit, but then there is this terrible sounding piano on one of the songs that just ruins the whole vibe...where was the production quality there?

chris impelliteri will forever be remembered as the man who made chickenpicking ok in metal.

He formed the band when he was around 18 years old, in 1992. Therefore he is only around 35 years old! He cannot be born in the sixtees! Wikipedia is correct!
