Lifehouse? Is that one of those bands that I keep seeing on those damn "Buzz Ballads" commercials?

Ugh.

freak_sho246 :
yea, they are on buzz ballads

Ok, that interviewer was whack. he asked so many damn questions about a new album that doesn't really exist yet...

Lifehouse is ok, they have a few good songs like storm. But mostly their just radio frindly pop that sounds like every other pop band.

Pretty good band IMO

I like Lifehouse, they're a pretty commercial band but at least they make albums instead of a few singles and a bunch of filler.

Andragon :
They had one decent album "Stanley's downfall" or something like that. It had some good songs. Otherwise, they sucked ass with their cheesy "love songs."

Well they have more idea about songwriting and melodies than the usual penis weasels interviewed on here like Marty FriedChicken et al.

I like this band. They've stayed true to themselves, which is something a lot of bands fail to do when they reach some kind of commercial success.

The Stanley Climbfall.

Lifehouse is great. I love them and couldn't care less about their mainstream success. Fantastic songs, fantastic albums.

lifehouse is awesome, and they do generally have good songs, but people are right to call them radio friendly pop/rock. there's nothing wrong with that, but it would be nice if they got their sound closer to their first album and farther from soft rock stations. but they're always going to be a softer rock band, that's not them selling out, it's how they've always been

Seems like every mainstream radio band they do an interview with says, "We want to push ourselves farther".

I liked their first album then grew out of them.

Yeah, because it's completely Lifehouse's fault that your girlfriend and ex dated.

lotta haters. lifehouse no name face was the first album i ever bought and is one of my favorites to this day. the arrangements on that album are absolutely brilliant. their too good to just be dissmissed as "pop/rock"

P Burg :
Right now, we're focused upon writing a great record. How an album will be received is always anyone's guess, though our central goal is not to become complacent, and not to be content with where the group is at. We want to move forward, and push ourselves.

LMAO. Lifehouse? Really really? Well, alright Lifehouse, you just keep on cranking out those phenomenal albums we're all dying to hear.

The guys play guitar so they have as much right as any other band who have guitars in their arsenal. They are ok actually, its a change seein a band like this writing half decent albums!

Woah what did lifehouse do to you people?
You don't like the because your girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend likes them, you think they don't have any guitar talent, you say they sound like everybody else.

Well then you just don't know how to veiw and rate good bands.
sometimes you really have to like the style of music to enjoy it allot, but a good voice lyrics and sound are pretty much facts. Jason Wade writes with meaning and quality(fact)Madona doesn't(fact).
And as for their guitar skills, does Dragon Force make hits that sell gold all the time, No. A good musician can write something that goes with th lyrics in a catchy way and complements the song not over rides it.

I like Lifehouse a lot, their first album 'No Name Face' was amazing, but I think that each album they release is slightly worse than the previous one. I've hardly listened to 'Who We Are' simply because it's nowhere near as good as they used to be so hopefully their next one will break the trend.

I'm not surprised by all the haters either. It seems alternative rock is a dying genre, which is a shame, as it is one of the few genres left that produces 'positive' music. Then again, the UG community is made up of a lot of angry people :P

LIHEHOUSE ROCKS!

nothing's wrong with Pop, it takes talent to make things people will like, and we need a foil to the anti-pop everywhere, or we'll be left with nothing pleasant to listen to

it's much easier to veg and relax to Lifehouse than Dream Theater

I agree, they are so pathetic as a band that their name should be purposely misspelled by everyone. If you want upbeat music then go listen to your Christina Aguilera albums and rub one out like you usually do. Thanks. Oh, and to the guy above me, Dream Theater was a TERRIBLE example. They aren't very heavy or depressing, honestly. And if you hate Petrucci that much, listen to Liquid Tension Experiment and see how you feel. Thanks playa.

Yeah. Why are they all so angry? I can't look at a single interview or comment without some form of criticism... it's depressing.

i consider myself someone who enjoys listening to sappy love songs at times, and i often listen to them just because i love their cheese factor. let me tell you though: the dairy content in lifehouse's albums is making me lactose intolerant.

strange to hear kiefer sutherland has associated himself with them; i always imagined he was more of an in-the-closet headbanger.

Well... When I started to play Guitar, I wanted to play Lifehouse songs. This Band is the reason why I learned to play Guitar. I like this Band and where i come from (Germany) they aren't successfull, but I like there music. Kurt Cobain wasn't a good Guitar player either but he had success, so what's wrong with Lifehouse? I don't understand you guys.

"Otherwise, they sucked ass with their cheesy "love songs."" What kind of lyrics should they write? About EMO-Issues? Come on guy, You suck.

Their music is real for people who understand the lyrics. Lifehouse isn't like any other Soft-Pop-Rock Band. You have to know which one is real, and if you say lifehouse and the others are the same, you have no idea.
