Aziraphale :
Not a spectacular band in any way but they're competent at what they do, and the singer's pretty good. This guy seems pretty cool too.

Strato-Massacre :
not a huge fan of this band, but i admire how theyre constantly changing their sound (theyve come a long way from "last resort") and still manage to be a good, successfull hard-rock band. jacoby can sing too.

Strato-Massacre :
sorry for double post
i also really dig their new single.

Most diverse album?? Did they even listen to it? :-P I got pretty bored with this album real quick! It's a 13-dozen album with no songs that jump out whatsoever... Really dull, in my opinion! I used to like em but they (and other bands from nu-metal era) just dissapoint nowadays

Great damn album I love it. And yes, one of the nicest bands I've ever had the pleasure to see live, Jacoby really feeds off the crowd

very good live. jacobly gets into it.

album is ok, lifeline and march into the darkness are really good but rest blended into itself imo

this is my greatest sorrow as an old fan of Papa Roach. to go from writting lyrics about not needing material possesions to ...hollywood *****s and having his own MTV show. thums down all the way. its still a bummer to me. that being said i jam TightRope on a regular basis and most fans of this band prolly are young and either have never heard potatoes for christmas or old friends from young years

Revenge to and pretty much the whole infest album. i was going through middle and high school and when nu-metal came out and i miss the rap lyric style of coby dick.

a great band. jacoby shaddix is one of the best modern day vocalists out there

Pretty good band, but the last album and this one haven't really had much going for them.

I don't really listen to them, but there are a couple of songs of theirs that i really like. Hollywood Whore for example The video is a bit weird though... exploding faces ftl.
lol

I really like their new album, but then again i like every new album that everyone says is shit (ex: i like Minutes to Midnight, Death Magnetic, Liberation Transmission, and A7X's self titled). Into the Light, Change or Die, Lifeline, and State of Emergency are my favs. I like all the rest of the songs, with Live this down and Had Enough as my least favs, but they're still Ok. Cool interview too.

Black Ox :
This band just seems to focus on the lead singer only imo.

I've been a fan of proach since Infest and I have thought that they have only gotten better since, but I was pretty dissapointed with the new record. It wasn't a bad cd by any means, but there were not many songs that stood out like there other cds. But these guys definitly put there heart into every show they do.

Good Album

jetwash69 :
Haven't been too impressed since Infest; thought Getting Away With Murder was a step in the wrong direction. Maybe I just need to buy the CDs and get hooked on them in the car.

I dunno, but they only played one really good song live the other night. The rest was kinda ***yawn***. Hardly grabbed your attention over the standard mosh pit BS. And the pit was hardly worked up compared to when A7X finally came on \m/

Maybe I'm just getting old. But Offspring stays strong, Metalica keeps getting better, and so does Muse, Atreyu, Linkin Park, and A7X. This is just my humble opinion and I know half or more readers will disagree.

I love the way people are telling others that their taste in music sucks if they like Papa Roach...WTF? So who makes these people the ultimate critics to tell others what sucks and what doesn't? Papa Roach is an amazing live band and I could think of thousands of other bands that wish on a daily basis they were as big as P. Roach.

Even if life on earth would be destroyed by means of a hundred nuclear bombs, there would still be a colony of roaches that are more talented than this guitarist. . .focus on riffs* pfft!!

Is it just me, or is this guitarist really vague when it comes to his music? E.g., "oh, there's a lot of different styles on this album". Like what, free jazz? High Renaissance?

they don't write the most amazing music ever, but it's not crap either. and they do put on a good show. jacoby shaddix is a great frontman. lots of energy.

i would hope he focuses on riffs...
they are kinda the main part of the song.

i mean what the **** has he been focusing on before? haha
his ****in hair do or somet.

I think they should focus on not sucking and looking soo gaytarded. Every time I see Jacoby and that stupid hair of his I want to punch myself in the nuts over, and over again.

Some bands focus on the vocal melodies, harmonies, the chords, keyboard parts, atmospheric layerings... There are plenty of guitarists in successful bands who barely play any riffs, metal players also. And even if they do, there are few bands where the riffs are "the main part of the song", as that's usually the vocal melody dude.

Ultimate Guitar, specifically Amy Kelly, an important question you forgot to ask was "Is your band impressed at the fact that you have been making completely awful music for 10 years now and for some reason keep getting played on the radio? Really very few bands have had the opportunity to decline over the span of so many albums as Papa Roach has and what your band has been able to accopmlish with such an overall lack of talent has become impressive at this point. Also, have you thanked your record label for making sure to release your albums when there are no other big name albums comming out, to ensure that rock radio has something to push, at least until the new Seether/Shinedown/Three Days Grace/Nickleback/ (insert random god-awful band) has a chance to shit on analog tape and press it as an album?

That is a question I would have asked. Amy Kelly, you need to prepare better questions next time.

papa roach used to b good, but can somebody please tell me y "lifeline" is on underground radio?
it's a "pop metal" at best and it doesnt go with any of the "core" sound

i can't stand the new album, and i don't know why. it sounds completely normal, but i tried, and they're just not very good songs. "focused on riffs" definitely might have something to do with it. bad approach. better have a good rebound next time!

I haven't listened to a Papa Roach song since Last Resort but I just watched the Hollywood Whore video and I didn't like the song. The guy can sing but his voice is incredibly one dimensional, I'd hate to sit through an entire album of it. Guitar parts are completely unoriginal and bass parts are indistinguishable. It doesn't make me want to buy the album or see them live at all.

i liked shinedown's first album (only), but i definitely agree. these are the kind of questions they should be asking, haha.
anyway, don't plan on listening to the new album. not at all a fan of the band.

lmfao That's hilarious! Anyways...I heard a Seether song on the radio the other day and it reminded me of when I used to write garbage like that when I was in high school. haha
