I remember a lot of pros used the first line of Valvestates such as the Smashing Pumpkins. Many used them just for a power amp...I guess because they were reliable. I giged with a VS100: great headroom and funky clean tones-also great crunch for palm muting...but no much in between-Of course, I didn't use and pedals except delay chorus. I can see how MG's would work for him...I mean it's not like he needs ultra reprosive touch or something. Tubes are overated.

I really wanted to get an MG after I heard him suggest it in an interview before, but I played a combo at guitar center that sucked hardcore and then saw what everybody thinks of them on here. Maybe the stacks sound better than the combos?

I have an MG 30 DFX; the distortion is pretty good(you can actually get a variety of sounds out of it); but the clean channel really blows.

Hmmmmm, so the link that I conveniently included in my post to the "Cold" tab is in fact a link to an incorrectly tuned tab? Alright. How's this you ****ing chutney ferret:

Why are you losers arguing over the amp model? It's a Marshall either way. It's gonna rock like a mofo, plus the music only requires him to produce one sound from his guitar. Any amp will sound good if you got like four of them onstage at full volume. Fuck!

If you look in the album booklet, it says John5 did on half of the solo and Koichi did the other.

I wish everyone would stop busting on Static-X. Their new CD was really good. On par with the old stuff and all. I really dont have any clue why everyone claims that their old stuff was so great. I find just about all of their albums to be really good. None we're totally complete albums if you ask me, but Cannibal was really the closest to being it.(complete meaning good from start to finish) I truly can't wait to see what comes out of this one. I mean they really getting better since they've had the same lineup. I think this next one should be their best yet! Or at least I hope so...

I liked there first two albums but that's about it. It sounds like they have a much smaller budget now as well. The last two or three albums sounded a lot cheaper than the first two - in terms of sound quality.

It's not the difficulty of the playing its the creativity. Even tho I think this could be the easiest song to play... just think of hundreds of great songs that have always been easy to play. Smoke on the water for example... Even though most people play it with a pick, its supposed to be finger plucked, its still easy.

i've got a marshall 100DFX combo and it sounds wicked, you just gotta have the settings right thats all, and if you chuck on a bit of chorus/delay and alot of reverb (using the bridge pickups), the clean channel sounds excellent!

Yeah but there's a difference between easy-awesome (pretty much all AC/DC, Sabbath, Nirvana, SOAD, Rammstein etc)and easy-meh. I wouldn't really call Cold an excessively creative song by any stretch of the imagination. Creative enough to be ripped off by Evanescence over and over again (most notably in Going Under) but none the less. Oh, and "Screw you!" to those guys that are going to say "Well if you don't like the band, don't comment". What kind of grounds for constructive criticism is that?

Because every solo except one is, and it is assumed that the interviewer is only asking about the songs Koichi actually wrote..

this ones for anyone who complained about the marshall. sometimes when your famous you pick a sound and stick with it. you cant judge anyone by their amp or their ability... or anything else for that matter... pretty much if you get as famous as wayne static.... you gotta be doin something right.

I don't care too much for industrial. I don't know where they come combining industrial with metal. Bad combination. No offense. Just my opinion. My friend listens to Static-X constantly. One time, he asked me to go to Ohio with him to see them live. I turned it down. I said, "sorry bud."

albeit, its a valve amp, but I love the marshall not-even-clean sound. I use another software for producing clean tones anyway, but that slightly broken up clean just sounds so right for me.
