Cool interview, Mick seemed a bit stuck up.

Although I've read more recent interviews with him and he hasn't come across that way.

One thing that's kinda funny is the number of times that the word "love" appears in their song titles...

"Too fast for love"
"ten seconds to love"
"too yound to love"

... And I barely know any of their material.

Hey, you guys. You really have to understand where the Crue is coming from to appreciate their music. I am a big classic rock fan but I have the utmost respect for the Crue.

They are probably the most real rock band in the way they lead their lifestyle. Drugs, the most fights, the most women. I've heard stories of Nikki and Tommy just completely kicking guys asses. They were the badasses of rock, and they will be forever. No one can take that away from them. Their music sounds exactly like they are- tough and real. Besides, there are sooo many other bands from the time with less talent than them. I think the fact that they partied all the time and could get any women they wanted at any time led people to have a skewed view on their music.

True

Read The Dirt..Nikki was a ****ing bad-ass who didnt hesitate to kick the shit out of anyone.

They were pretty much the description of what a rock band should be...instead of all this friendly mentality we have now

Because selling records is wrong.
Fuck all the bullshitting metal and rock and punk bands who 'don't care about money.'

If they truly didnt care about money they wouldn't accept offers from record labels to record their songs and create merchendise. They'd stay at home and do it for a hobby and keep a day job.

What a load of crap - 'we don't care about the money'...yeh

Unless your trying to say that Metallica is a tribute band to Motley Crue, you don't make any sense. Pretty sure a lot of people have been obsessed with a band and then formed their own. What are you getting at?

Sorry to come in so late but point actually being that there are many facets to a band and reasons to like them. James Hetfield admired what they did and aspired to be the thrash version of the wildly popular Crue

That's it

motley crue gave metallica one of their first gigs. ron mcgoveny was wandering around trying to get a gig and some other band cancelled as motley crue's opener so metallica got it.

Goin' Mobile :
Musically, I'd probably compare them to the likes of Iron Maiden. Listen to the whole album "Shout at the Devil." Commercial pop music? I think not. That album was pure hard rock/metal with a very dark undertone. Mick Mars and Tommy Lee's playing is very competent, and lots of the songs like "Bastard" "Red Hot" and "Danger" are straight up brutal songs that no one would consider pop metal.

You don't know what you're talking about. If you knew the stories behind Motley Crue songs like "Knock Em Dead Kid" (Police Brutality), On With The Show (Paternal Abandonment), and Bastard, or if you looked at the lyrics of the so called "innocent radio staples" like Too Young to Fall in Love (now I'm killing you, watch your face turning blue), or Wild Side (which ****in massacres a staple of religious prayer) then you would know that Motley does NOT come short and produce only pop hits. It aint the crue's fault that stations like MTV lumped them into the Pop-MEtal of the 80's. And so what if they were catchy songs, the content of songs like DR Feelgood (Scarface anyone?) is far from pop.

So to all the haters out there...

do your ****in homework before you come here looking for trouble.

Wow, James Hetfield is your defense against the Crue. Mr. Metallicash?

Again, if you knew what you were talking about, Motley Crue hated the music industry just as much as your beloved Selloutica. My sources for that, "Fake" from New Tattoo, "Saints of Los Angeles" "Welcome to the Machine", and "What's it Gonna Take to Make it" from SOLA.

Now, the argument when it comes to Metallicash fans against Motley Crue usually sounds like "I don't like bands that have to rely on makeup and hairspray to sell albums". Ok fair enough, cause its not like it worked for Alice Cooper, KISS, The New York Dolls, or the Stooges.

What's my point? My point is that since Motley Crue wears these influences on their sleaves, you can't fault them for following their idols. Metallicrap, along with most of the thrashers probably resented Motley for what they're really guilty of, inspiring all of the POSERS and IMITATORS.

They're all gone, all thats left is Motley Crue.
