Uhm.. what do they mean by
On stage the cabinets are housed in a frame allowing a straight cab on the floor to throw sound across the stage towards the audience and a slant cab on top to direct sound at Page. The result is a wider spread of sound (it is fuller than a normal piggyback stack configuration)

Aren't all stacks straight cab on the bottom, angled on top?

If the four Marshalls reportedly belonged to Hendrix, then couldn't we say they were from 69-70? Otherwise, I'm very impressed that Hendrix managed to get his hands on 1973 Marshalls, considering he was dead.

That's an excellent point.. there's often errors like these in articles like this, nice catch! =P

Dude, I wish I was Jimmy Page's sound guy... That would be sooo cool!!! Sorry I haven't posted anything lately... I've been busy at the start of summer... So, yeah... Jimmy Page is definately at the top five of my favorite guitar players list... Definately... Well, later...

Good article- the part about Joe Walsh giving Jimmy Pagethe Les Paul is not a rumor, Joe was in the James Gang when he gifted it to him.

No, it's actually quite possible 'cause Hendrix was approximately 20 years ahead of his time.

Take the info in this article very loosely. A lot of it is wrong and the basis for many Page myths like the '58 LP and #2 coming from Joe Walsh.

This number? You mean stairway to heaven? Thats the only song where i've seen him play the double neck

This information was current in 1986. Maybe the angled cab wasn't invented and/or utilized in those days.

No, the track in question was written and performed by The Firm (aka NOT Stairway), but had since been retired from their sets.

I've heard that he plays the double on "over the hills and far away" to get a more acoustic sound from the 12 string

Page’s main guitar on the recent Firm tour is a piecemeal Fender Telecaster fitted with a Parsons/White Stringbender. Page first showcased this instrument during the ARMS Tour.

Well, isn't it this telecaster with P/W B-bender?

If i read correctly this isn't a Led Zeppelin tour.

He might've just been saying that the four heads were from 69-73 and a few of them were reportedly owned by Hendrix. My guess is that it was a poorly worded sentence or a typo.

I don't know if anyone else finds it weird, but strings 8-38? Thats rediculous. I play 11-52, and i'm not saying that your strings make you good/bad as a player (although i already wasn't much a page fan before i read this). You want good les paul tone, listen to the beano album or the allman brothers band. make page sound like an amateur.

yeah i was curious about the string gauges as well...i mean, i know many great guitarists that only use tens, but man, arent 8's like, hard to find? its just odd...

there's lots of 12 string zeppelinsongs. "stair way""when the levee breaks", huge amounts of their acoustic songs. its just most of their hard rocking songs played on the radio are on 6 string.

didnt't page do like 3/4 of his records using a tele? i know he use in on the first 4 zep records...

Page used the double-neck on The Song Remains the Same

Also, living in a basement for 2 1/2 years explains why Tim Marten hadn't really heard much Led Zep

I think it said the 8's were on the tele.
