First Chord Lesson

I put the best chords to begin with in this lesson. With these chords you can play the easy songs, for the harder songs you need some more. The letters at the end of the lines are your fingers. For example:

 i = index finger, the forefinger
 m = middle finger, the longest 
 r = ring finger, also known as fourth finger
 p ='pinky' also known as little finger

It comes in really handy to know all these chords. Although you'll need the major chords the most. The Em (E-Minor) is used the most of all the Minor chords, so learn to play them all! I hope I helped you to take a step into the fantastic world of guitars!

Not a bad lesson, although you could have done a lot more with it. I feel that if you put in a few chord progressions from some popular songs it would have helped illustrate them better. Also you've shown bar chords with explaining that they were barchords which is what makes them more difficult and how to go about barring chords properly.

I would like to let you know that me and my friend Craig would like to say something about the names of the fingers. When he was teaching me the chords and he was telling me which fingers to put on which strings, the couldn't remember the name of the ring finger...so we called it the nameless finger.
