Bono may be a pretentious ass who gets on my nerves, but U2 as a band deserve the recognition.

Felixx, Havana_Affair, please, just don't bother with music anymore. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but sometimes, I think people like you shouldn't be. U2, like them or not, are a good band, socially concious, influential and successful.

Some kids just need to be taught some respect.

If you want to compare bands, compare to those criteria. Do not stop at sound only because that criteria is only subjective.
