I have that amp and many people have had a big mouth on how bad it sounds after playing on this amp for 10 seconds.

just take it as a middle class amp with a good selection on channels and effects and stop slating it

... but, now i actually can't stand this amp. I can't get the right tone out of it. i play a strat through it, and when i use OD2, the playing just sounds muddy and you can't hear the notes clearly. the clean channel is very good though.
i just don't know about it now, i can get a better tone out of my brothers roland 30watt cube. i'm even contemplating selling it.

Really? I get loads of feedback when I turn gain on full, haha. This amp isn't bad though. Together with a Line 6 PODxt it sounds awesome.

AVT100 is one of Marshall's worst amps. I bought it second handed, and I was pleased the first year, but then my ears sort of evolved. It's decent for Blue and rock, but if you play metal, stay away from this amp.

Not sure if you know this but the tone isn't actually what you hear because it's been EQ'd and toyed around with. Trust me, the guitar sounds you hear on a recording aren't actually what the amp (or Preamp) sound like most of the time.

Or maybe you can't just EQ the amp. I haven't tried this amp but this review is not very kind. And I think nothing deserves 1/10. Nothing is completely crap. Not even cheap starter pack amps or Harley Benton amps that really suck.

Well, haven't you listened to any metal songs? They use cleans a lot. Of course the main sound is distortion but there are a lot of clean parts too.
