I even think Dave Mustaine should have been up there but Metallica insisted that 'They should have played on the first album' or something like that.

Still well deserved for the original GnR band and the Peppers! I think Iron Maiden and Foo Fighters also deserve to be in the RnRHoF... and a whole lot more.

steven/matt, slash, izzy, duff and axl. i dont care for the drums that much as i find matt just as good and maybe even tighter.

I disagree, I think that Priest had enough to do with the beginning of metal that they should be inducted due to their influences on modern metal bands, including the Big 4. Also, I think Nugent is a very good guitarist and he at least deserves some kind of recognition, whether its induction or not. And Dio is one of the best vocalists known to mankind (at least as far as metal is concerned) so he definitely deserves to be a hall of gamer. And Whitesnake-I haven't heard anything from them that I DON'T like, so IMO, they totally deserve it as well.

Deep Purple had maybe 2 recognizable songs, KISS....don't get me started. The Nuge is also a one shot wonder, as well as Thin Lizzy. I love the Crue but they're never getting in....too shamelessly image-driven.... same with Whitesnake.

And Def Leppard doesn't deserve to get in because of the one armed drummer.

didnt even think of this, im going to see them in january but id love to see them with john.

as far as gnr i love them too and im eager to see what will happen but at this point im kinda over it, in 25 years they had like 3 good albums was it?

Especially for this band's first time playing it live. The only bad thing I could say about it is that Bumblefoot is playing the end wrong, but I'm sure he'll get it right the second time they play it. I was at that show; best concert I've ever been to.

Axl wasn't even late. They took to the stage after about as much time it took to set it up after the opener. The opening act, Black Label Society, was very late, though.

The doors were set to open at 6:30. Black Label Society didn't take to the stage until about 8:30. They played about an hour, but there was no In This River, which Zakk Wylde has said repeatedly will never leave their set. It was cool when they played Suicide Messiah and Fire It Up, Overlord was better in person (but still not good), and they put a cool ending on Concrete Jungle, but the rest of the show, especially Zakk Wylde's unmelodic shred-fest guitar solo, was fairly boring. The rest of the songs were the same tempo, same base chords, same melody stuff -- it all kind of blended together. He should try to sing like somebody besides Ozzy sometimes, too, but that's just a suggestion.

But then GNR were on stage around 10:15, and they proceeded to play until around 25 (for nearly 4 ****ing hours), to a largely undeserving Nashville crowd. That was the deadest crowd I have ever seen, and the floor wasn't halfway full (although the Jason Aldean concert in about 3 months is sold out -- go figure Nashville: they only like rock if you call it country or if it's Three Days Grace, etc., and they only like country if it was written by someone other than the performer). I was glad to see that the band didn't mind, though. They gave 100% anyway.

I doubt they'll be coming back to Nashville, though, and I don't blame them one bit.

Anyway, I hope they play together for the RnR HoF, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. It will still be cool, even if Axl plays with his band and Slash with his, the rest of the guys can play with either one or both.

But that show was so ****ing awesome Sunday night, I don't even care right now.

Well, Iron Maiden and Rush are the only two I'd really hold my breath for. Deep Purple has some stuff toward the end that really sucks. Thin Lizzy's good, but they're not going to get in when they only really have one hit.

The rest of those bands really suck.

I disagree, I think that Priest had enough to do with the beginning of metal that they should be inducted due to their influences on modern metal bands, including the Big 4. Also, I think Nugent is a very good guitarist and he at least deserves some kind of recognition, whether its induction or not. And Dio is one of the best vocalists known to mankind (at least as far as metal is concerned) so he definitely deserves to be a hall of gamer. And Whitesnake-I haven't heard anything from them that I DON'T like, so IMO, they totally deserve it as well.

I'll give you priest. Everything you said about them is true, and they have some good riffs.

I hate Dio's stuff with Sabbath, except for Neon Knights and Heaven and Hell, and Black Sabbath with Ozzy is one of the greatest things to me, so I'm sort of biased by that. He is a good singer if you just look at his vocal capabilities, but none of the music he actually made sounds good to me.

Plus there is only so many times you can listen to a song about Anthony eating out and finger banging a chick.

Slash WILL not show up for this I can almost bet my life on it there is WAY too much animosity between him and Axl. It would be pretty cool to see but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, seems like the third coming of the messiah is more likely.

If you honestly like that diverse collection of GNR songs, I find it rather implausible that you couldn't enjoy any of the others. You pretty much just listed their biggest hits, minus Patience.

Judging by that, I would say the only Metallica songs you can stand are One, Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, and Wherever I May Roam.

GnR was the ONLY rock band in the 90's, for anyone who was a kid in the 90's, they were living gods. Rock stars that our parents told us about but we had thought were all dead.

At the time everyone else was jumping all over Kurts balls and doing the grunge thing (and kurt was just jumping all over the pixies balls for grunge) so a classic rock band really stuck out. They had some punk/metal speed mixed with great vocals, beautiful guitar leads, and catchy rhythms and every member of the band kicked ass...

but that, was a long time ago...

As for GnR, I don't hate them, just not too fond of them. I think it's a pretty obvious choice. And for RHCP, you're gonna sit there and tell me that Californication, Can't Stop and Dani California all sound the same? And yeah, a lot of the songs are about sex. Just like a lot of them are about drugs and friends and family and so on. All of those things had a major impact on his life, why wouldn't he write songs about them?

Fuckin right dude...the fact that more than one person on here are even questioning whether DP deserve to be there or not is ridiculous. I mean, they, along with Led Zeppelin (yes I am putting Deep Purple alongside Led Zeppelin!), have inspired countelss hard rock and metal bands, including Metallica. Lars Ulrich has said how they used to listen Machine Head non-stop while touring.

GnR was the ONLY rock band in the 90's, for anyone who was a kid in the 90's, they were living gods. Rock stars that our parents told us about but we had thought were all dead.

They had some punk/metal speed mixed with great vocals, beautiful guitar leads, and catchy rhythms and every member of the band kicked ass...

Only rock band of the 90s? they were an 80s band who are incredibly overrated. Other 90s rock bands Teenage Fanclub, Oasis, Blur, Suede, RATM, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Tool, Metallica, Pulp, QOTSA, My Bloody Valentine and R.E.M were all active during the 90s so that point is invalid

KISS should definitely be in the hall of fame. They have been an influence on EVERY artist to come out since the 70s. Who had pyros in their shows before KISS? Nobody. Who has them now? Everybody. Ace Frehley made people want to learn how to play guitar. All you KISS hating guitar players on here are influenced by KISS and you probably don't even know it. Metal gods like Megadeth and Pantera loved KISS. New bands like Avenged Sevenfold love Megadeth and Pantera. The influence goes on.

Iron Maiden Definitely needs to be in the hall of fame as well. Their music is so amazing. If you don't like Iron Maiden then you definitely don't like metal.

Motley Crue should be in the hall of fame as well. They were very influential in the 80s and really are a great band once you get past their glitter and other nonsense. Mick Mars is one of the most underrated guitar players ever.

The only band on this list who I do not think should be in the hall of fame is Whitesnake. I was never really that big of a fan. I don't dislike them by any means, but are they really one of the all time greats?

Also the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is kind of a bulls**t institution anyways. I don't even consider a lot of people in the hall of fame to be Rock and Roll.

Idiot...GNR had 2 albums in the top 40 not once but twice! The Use Your Illusions Albums 1 & 2 and Appetite & GNR Lies. 4 great albums and even the cover album rocked. I love Appetite but Use Your Illusions I was baptised on.

Thin Lizzy is one of the best and most influential bands ever. I see that you think "hits" make it matter to see if theyre good. Zappa got in, and he had NO real commercial hits. Phil Lynott had more talent and passion in his pint of Guiness than half of these clowns already inducted

F*ck the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Lemmy and Motorhead will almost certainly live on and pass into Rock n' Roll legend well after they're both gone, without being inducted.
Similar can be said for Priest, Maiden, Purple, Lizzy; Anyone on that list really.

The Hall of Fame pisses me right off.

Also- coming from a GnR fan- they should be inducting the actual band rather than the name Guns N' Roses- and what I mean by that is just because Axl is still legally allowed to tour under the name with his new band then it doesn't mean they should get to play at the induction.. :/

Thin Lizzy had only one hit in AMERICA. They were very popular in Europe and have had a huge influence on any metal band with the twin-guitar attack. And the rest of those bands don't suck...

Neil Peart's good, but not "the best f-cking drummer ALIVE". You obviously haven't listened to any music other than classic rock if you think that. I'm talking about music like jazz and very complex poly-rhythmic music that you would brush off as "annoying noise" because you have no understanding of it. He's not overrated, but people hype Neil Peart up way to much.

I wouldn't say Oasis, Blur, Suede, Pulp or Radiohead were 'rock' per se...maybe indie/alternative/Britpop? Nirvana are more grunge, but the others definitely class as rock in my eyes.

Also...is it just me but are Rush not as huge outside the US/Canada as people think? I'm from the UK and they're not/weren't as big over here.
