I'm just getting back into playing after quite a few years, and had the chance to play this at Guitar Center last weekend. It blew me away! Any, for a relatively new "just for fun" player that might play anywhere between 80's to country to rock to possibly neo-classical metal, I'm having a hard time deciding between the C-1 Plus and the C-1 Hellraiser. Basically it comes down to the pickups. The coil-tap is a definite must but for fun playing and possibly home recoding will the Duncan Designed pickups be ok, or should I go with the EMG's?
POSTED: 11/16/2008 06:19pm

Killswitch. Basically, it's a manual tremolo effect. Turn the volume of one of the pickups all the way down, then put the switch in the middle position. Flick the switch between the muted pickup and the middle pickup repeatedly very quickly and you've got it.
POSTED: 04/07/2009 03:47pm

Amen brotha! I messed around with the height on mine and I have no complaints with the tone. I can honestly pull off any type of tone with these p-ups.
POSTED: 02/03/2010 05:36pm

"BUY IT AND ALL YOUR FRIENDS WITH 3000 DOLLAR GIBSONS AND PRS's WILL BE JEALOUS!"

I have both a C-1 and a Custom 24. I will say the C-1 looks damn good. But it doesnt come close to the beauty, or sound of the PRS. Maybe up against an SE model, but not a Custom. Unless you have played a Custom 24, and not one set up by some dickweed at GC, you wouldn't understand. Its like a base Corvette vs a Ferrari, of course the Corvette is good on the relative cheap, but you just cant get the precision and quality. For the price, Schecter is probably one of the best guitars you can get. Also, its durable as all hell, trust me, i dropped it a ton of times. I recommend this guitar to everyone who is ready to step up from a beginner guitar.
POSTED: 02/09/2011 05:56pm

This guitar is the best I've ever played! I'm 53 and have played since age 14. My wonderful wife bought this for me for a birthday present... still can't believe it! I was looking at Fender Telecasters online when she said - how about this one? I've mainly played Fender Stratocasters, but have owned Gibsons Les Paul, Ibanez - 335 body style, strat body style, I've played Telecasters, SG's, Fender Mustang etc. none of these guitars come close to the quality of this beautiful guitar.

Mine is a 2005 with the beautiful black cherry finish and Humbuckers. The quality of this guitar is amazing in every aspect. The finish, the hardware all top rate! The neck is through body and what others have said about the sustain is definitely correct. The feel of the neck is thinner and not as deep as a Strat neck - easier to play and it even makes doing bluesy B.B. King type vibrato solos easier than any guitar I've ever played. When you play lead runs and licks it is such a fluid feel, I don't know how else to describe it...that's the closest I can come.

The humbucker pick ups are fantastic! I have a 1963 pre-cbs Brown Fender Concert amp, all original with the four ten inch speakers and I've never heard a guitar sound that good out of this amp. Using the neck pick up only it has the full rich Gibson 335 sound and with the coil tap on any combination of pick ups I can still get that classic Stratocaster - Telecaster sound but with playability I have never experienced on any other guitar - period!

If you're thinking of buying yourself a guitar for just playing at home, in a garage or gigging with you can't go wrong with this guitar. The Schecter C1+ Diamond Series will blow you away!
POSTED: 03/07/2012 09:43pm

For the love of God, what are you doing. All bold text + a glowing "review" of the guitar. This is pretty much just blatant advertisement / trolling.

I mean, you created your account the same day you posted this comment, and it was the only time you've logged in? AND your birthday is apparently 03/07/2012 as well?

Either;
A = you're a troll.
B = you're a fanboy.
or C = you're employed by Schecter guitars.
POSTED: 03/26/2012 06:42pm

hey, i'd like some advice. i'm stuck between the c1 standard (exactly the same guitar, just with dot inlays) and the hellraiser special. pickups dont matter, i'd change them on both of those. my main concern is the gibson scale length on the standard. i dont have extremely big hangs, but not small ones either. is there a problem playing around the 24th fret? i'm tending towards the standard cause of the striking look with the flame maple and dark brown sunburst...
POSTED: 04/06/2012 05:10pm

It really pisses me off when people hurrdurr and calls out Gibson. I personally think the Les Paul is way too muddy for any practical use beyond solo's/clean comping, but god damn I haven't fallen in love with a guitar like I have with my SG.
And no, this doesnt have anywhere near the same character/life that a Gibson would. However, that's not saying it's bad, I'd get one for a backup [came to these reviews for user feedback after seeing one for pretty cheap].

Still.
