And it is a pretty well known fact that Hollywood is liberal. There are a few conservatives there, but the vast majority are liberal. It's pretty obvious.

I completely agree, I wish I would have gone to their earlier shows but I was too young. Now I'm glad I didn't participate in helping such a hateful person. It saddens me to see such a great example of 90's heavy metal be such a tool for hate and bias and discrimination.

Downgrade my comment all you want by giving it negative votes, but as I recall the day the article posted on here where Oderus made that rant in that interview about Dave Mustaine we all had a good laugh and supported what he said. I still think that Oderus is right and Dave is wrong. When it comes to bands and music shut up and play your guitar or whatever you play and quit wasting article space talking about politics.

Actually it has nothing to do with his opinion, I just think he should stop talking politics all together. There were a lot of articles of him talking politics, we didn't hear from any other bands talking politics, and Oderus just came on and told him to shut up already. It's not about being criticized, it's about being shamed for your personal views and then railroaded into putting on a facade of "please-forgive-me". Then they get together with the offended parties for some "spiritual healing". F'ing pleeeeze! It's so stupid, but it's almost become an industry now.
They don't have to apologize for anything. There are plenty of fans left that will support him. His fans that take offense have just as much of a right to express their opinion as Dave does his.

"Political independence" is the least of it.

Santorum and other dominionists of his ilk want to transform America into a theocracy through legislation - the sneakier, less overt 21st Century version of The Crusades and The Inquisition.

"Born-again" (what a self-deluding term) christian mythology cult inductees such as Mustaine are often the most vocal and impassioned supporters of this mindset, feeling that they have to prove how committed they are both to themselves and - in Mustaine's particular case, his latest addiction - the church.
