Actually they picked it because it has very symbolic christian themes for them. They said that when you get to heaven none of the material things matter, so it's to show how greedy the devil is.

Got their new cd, at our local Hot Topic for ten bucks, and it is deffinately amazing. Well worth rebuying just so they get the money, even though It's on my computer and I could burn it. I would rebuy it, cause I met them and they're really cool dudes.

and this is in NO WAY the best metal album of the year, if i had to nominate one, i would have to go with Between the Buried and Me's Color's album.

its very surprising how he was able to do it
it was a mid tone type scream in the Dear Love CD
and in this one its just ranged so high its so amazing
and the guitars have such a good flow the them in the CD
the guitars are much faster and have more in it then the last CD no matter what people say
and the vocals on singing have opened more and are in more songs and used more often which makes the songs sound so much better

Uhh...no. Great album, great lyrics, yes. But they are not "straight up hardcore." Thick As Blood is straight up hardcore. Have Heart is straight up hardcore.

you obviously don't know anything about this band. the screamer does not have a bad voice. i've talked to him in person and he has a very soft speaking voice, and he has the best scream i've ever heard in my life.
their songs are complex, but easy to play if you know what you are doing. i learned how to play dogs can grow beards all over (from their old album, dear love) all the way through in less that four hours, and i've only been playing guitar for eight+ months. this band has come such a long way since their old album, but they still have their own original sound. they are nothing like every other metalcore and hardcore band out there. they are christian metalcore and they have one of the most unique sounds out there. and on top of that, they put on the best live shows i've ever been to. it makes me feel like i'm actually listening to the record as loud as it could possibly be. i've been in their pits at least three times, and i'd do it everyday if i could.

i rest my case (for now unless some other douch tries to undermine the devil wears prada)

They are not metalcore, metalcore is like Lamb of God. The Devil Wears Prada is Screamo, which is pretty much Emo. They are not the first band to use synth or keyboards. Children of Bodom, Opeth, Type O Negative, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Cradle of Filth (even though I hate them), Dimmu Borgir (not a big fan of them either) and a lot of other bands have used keyboards and synth, so it's nothing new. They are not heavy at all, you obviously have never heard any real heavy shit. He does not growl, he screams. There is a big difference between screaming and growling. Screaming you use your throat, growling you use your stomach and you exhale. Trust me I know. I do growling vocals in my band. btw if everybody knows who they are they are not underground and this shit will be gone in a few years and NOBODY will remember it.

You are a complete dumbass. I own every Opeth album and I've listen to all of them multiple times and Opeth doesn't have just one great song, they have many. The only song you probably know by them is Porcelain Heart. Arch Enemy new stuff does suck, but the Burning Bridges album is pretty good and some of their other older stuff is ok, but other than that yes they do suck. I mean I've heard a lot of Arch Enemy that really bored the shit out of me. But I do not see how The Devil Wears Prada is melodic death metal. I've listened to a lot of melodic death metal and they sound nothing like it. Early In Flames is melodic death metal, At The Gates is melodic death metal. This shit is not.

But its funny how people who love The Devil Wears Prada can talk so much shit online, but in person you back down. My brother was talking to some people about music and they brought up The Devil Wears Prada and my brother said that they weren't metal and the people agreed with him and it's happened before with different people.

They are not metalcore, metalcore is like Lamb of God. The Devil Wears Prada is Screamo, which is pretty much Emo. They are not the first band to use synth or keyboards. Children of Bodom, Opeth, Type O Negative, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Cradle of Filth (even though I hate them), Dimmu Borgir (not a big fan of them either) and a lot of other bands have used keyboards and synth, so it's nothing new. They are not heavy at all, you obviously have never heard any real heavy shit. He does not growl, he screams. There is a big difference between screaming and growling. Screaming you use your throat, growling you use your stomach and you exhale. Trust me I know. I do growling vocals in my band. btw if everybody knows who they are they are not underground and this shit will be gone in a few years and NOBODY will remember it.

I apologize for going overboard on my comment. it was unnecessary to disrespect your opinion. I have heard every Opeth song though. and i also never thought of this band as melo death, it's obviously a more key-laden hardcore with some thrashy parts in it which defines the genre of metalcore. Tbh, metalcore and screamo actually are both influenced by hardcore which could be easy to mix up because a lot of times u can hear parts that sound similar in both genres. I kno it's sometimes hard to keep your cool when people don't know about music and try to speak on it but i have found that is a lot easier to leave it be and let them perceived as dumb instead of speaking on it and having yourself perceived by others as a dick (not saying you). Im not saying that u dont know about music, im saying that a lot of people on this site don't know a lot a about music.
