dude..i didnt have the cash for a tube amp when i got a new one, but about the guitar, this is the most comfortable guitar i have ever played, just...play one i guess, and you will see what i mean

there was more changes than just the double-cut tho. they slimmed the neck and used a solid body for extra comfort. i had an sg and my friend has a dc: they are very different guitars.

I'm not a fan of the 490R and 498T pickups, so I've got a JB at the bridge and a P-Rails at the neck (switches for parallel, series, P-90 coil or rail coil) and I've put a roller bridge and locking Grover 18:1 tuners on it. These guitars are really are a joy to play. Slim 60's taper 24-fret neck, very big frets, great balance. Pickups are closer together because of the 24-fret neck, so the guitar is tonally quite different than the single cut LP's, but still retains much of the familiar LP sound... just a little extra character, not quite as dark.

These are nothing like an SG. The SG is a hideously deformed piece of ugliness on a stick. These are properly proportioned guitars. The SG has a short radiused curve at the rear of the body, and a larger radius curve at the horns of the body. SG's are bass ackwards and downright ugly. On that I agree with you but really these Les Paul DC's are beautifully proportioned guitars. I much prefer them over the single cuts.
