I am actually sat with my Mockingbird 40 Lashes on my lap. It's just a tad hotter than this one lol.

BC Rich are actually immense. Haven't got a clue why so many people hate them! Or at least pretend that they do lol

They don't use B.C. Rich pickups. They now use Rockfield pickups on their mid-range to high-end guitars, and those are some damn fine pickups.

Woah! SCARY wierd i have the EXACT same guitar and amp!!lmao!
well yeah b.c rich are very hated but i think they all have amazing design and detail and a great tone for metal and deffinitly not too bad on lighter music styles i like my bc rich avenge sob imsure that this guitar is alot better though and its design is truly unique so I'd give it a 10.

and finally another b.c. rich equiped with a whammy ftw!

that's because you're using single coils when you do that, it's called 60-cycle hum. play a strat for example, it would do the same thing. humbuckers "Buck" the "hum" therefore cancelling out the excess noise that single coils create.

Thats because BC Rich DOES Suck....

There's a huge variety in quality with BC Rich. If you buy a sub-$250 guitar, you should expect a sub-$250 guitar. I have a Mockingbird SLP that knocks everyone's socks off. I also have a couple BC R Bronze guitars I have sitting around the house for anyone to pickup and play with. The Bronze Series guitars are not great but I didn't spend a ton on them. Many "old dudes" remember when BC Rich licensed their designs to First Act. Those guitars were a disaster and the BC Rich brand name took a huge hit. BCR is coming back around. Try a medium to professional priced BCR. The quality is there.

if you play a BC Rich you probably dont care much for a clean sound anyway. or you dont use clean enough to care very much. if you wanted a good clean sound you wouldnt buy a stereotype metal guitar, youd go for a les paul or something. BC rich can be played by professionals, and people just hate them because they buy a low end one when they are still new and decide they hate it and they use typical idiot logic of "if one sucks they all suck" or they are one of those tossers who buy 20 strats/les pauls and hate everything else. i like the mockingbird but the rest of them look too much for me.

i agree, lots of professionals use the mockingbird like Slash and that guy from Meatloaf(i cant remember his name)and they're like one of the best musicians i have ever seen and heard of

The bits that were bad on mine were definitely livable for what I got

(The bad being fret edges were unfinished, the top of the high 13th 'E' fret needing buffing, & the pickup switch not as tight as I'd prefer it.) It was, however, setup very well with good intonation and really low action. No buzz.

Mine didn't have the KKW guitar problem of using small screws in the headstock nut, which was great, since I wasn't sure if all the BC Rich Korean guitars were like that or just the KKW's I'd heard of.

Other general notes, which vary on a personal level are:

The body shape itself, which doesn't always lend well to playing sitting down without some non-standard positioning.

The dive-bombing headstock - due to the miss-aligned center of gravity of the guitar, which can be fixed by adding an additional strap lock 2/3 to 3/4 along the back. (An idea I stoled from another review) This also makes the guitar much easier to play for extended periods of time standing up. (The people that say “tough it” need to be smacked hard in the head as that's just stupid.)

The width of the neck itself, (which I personally love because I have really long fingers) that becomes pretty significant as you move into the higher fret range. It took a bit to get used to, but I'm happier for it since it fits much better then any of my other guitars.

Of course just buying the same guitar/amp your favorite player uses sure in the hell don't mean you are going to play just like them. I bet music store owners love when people come in and say "I want the guitar uses". They probably say something like "Ok..on which album?" and try to sell them 14 guitars, 10 amps and an assload of effects laughing all the way to the cash register as they throw in a free pick.
