I dunno really about the graph setups, I have no manual yet. You can still chose the amp model and build from there as you want, there is alot of empty space in the sound library for your own sounds.
POSTED: 05/07/2008 03:17pm

Get the GT-10. It has basically all the features of the Gt-8 and a bit more. Plus it's much easier to use. You can't go wrong with it!
POSTED: 05/14/2008 08:14am

n i prefer my ME50 to the GT8 but that might just be me, the sounds seem better on it as it went for quality not quantity (and if you dropped it on the floor rather than breaking it would probably bounce back off the floor and kill you!)

this looks pretty damn sweet too though!
POSTED: 05/14/2008 11:52am

It has 40 seconds of loop time and as far as I know it can't be used for vocals. The gt-8 had the two independant signal paths long beefore the pod x3 live so I'm guessing the GT-10 does too
POSTED: 06/03/2008 09:40pm

I'll try and get a good review up here about this, i just got mine today. Trust me when I say this, the EZ Tone graph thing is not only super easy to figure out, it will pretty much set you up for "your" tone (as in its your own custom one that you've been searching for). And the graph thing is easy to use. I'll have a review up tomorrow hopefully, so stay tuned.
POSTED: 06/10/2008 12:45am

no, iamv, you are right, there are no XLR outputs. There's a microphone position simulator in the pre-amp and acoustic effects (somewhere in the parameters). But that's as close to XLR as it gets. He must've gotten the MIDI connectors confused as XLR outputs...or, he just has the wrong pedal. Or, a third possibility...completely wrong and stupid.
POSTED: 06/11/2008 02:59pm

I’ve tried both the line 6 x3 live and boss gt-10 first played the gt-10 loved it easy to use and like you said very tweak able the wahs sound great and so does the tone and its built rock solid, looping is very cool and still allows recording to computer, I actually took it back believe it not because I heard the tone in the line 6 x3 was better than the gt-10. I played the line 6 x3 live and tone definitely sounded as good if not better not completely noticeable for my untrained musical ears but the major let down was the effects the wahs sounded a bit crappy and if you push down a little too hard it switches to volume which sucks, besides I really liked the variation in the gt-10 wahs with cry baby, vox seven stringer and a few others. The x3 live was a little more complicated to use and definitely not as tweak able as the gt-10 and when tweaking the gt-10 it is very easy once you’ve used it, for me the same week I bought it. What I like also with the gt-10 is its large screen, all the dials and buttons make it much easier to use and understand.

The GT-10's tone isn’t as great and authentic as the X3 but near enough for you to still want over it because of the effects that sound better and offer more tweaking as I said previously. For example.... the wah in x3 live you can’t determine the level (volume) you want in the effect which the gt-10 can and how deep you want the wah to "wah".

Both gt-10 and x3 live will allow you to find the right kind of tone you want for your genres,

It’s like comparing fords and holders

Hope this helps
Well honestly i have been following this products rating, and on multiple websites it has been rated 9.5 to 10. I have a suggestion after playing for 7 year. The thing is YOU need to try it out and see if it is right for YOU. I just got the GT-10, and its sounding pretty epic on my ESP F400
POSTED: 05/26/2009 03:25pm

Trust me this is as good as it gets, well nearly. I told my guitar tutor and he was super jelous- I had the GT-10. If rob marcello, and all the other guys say it rocks and hundreds of others including myself say so, it does! Boss has cetainly after all the time spent on this unit definely got it right.

The best way to optimise the tone is to ensure the master volume is set down low (1/4 of the way up) on the GT-10 and turn up the volume on the amp as loud until you get desirable volume, NOT vise versa. This will give the tone more air too breath, metaphorically speaking.
POSTED: 08/22/2009 08:23pm

Obviously the output must be set accordingly.
DON'T USE PREAMPS IN FRONT OF AN AMP!!!! It won't work!!! I know it's pretty obvious, but for many don't.

Just got it in the mail today. I've used this thing for only 2 hours in a jam with my band this afternoon.....I use it for metal .....but you can make any sound you want with this...
I took 5 MINUTES TO MAKE THIS SETUP...
Found a Heavy sounding but clear distortion messed with the eq a little( which is a good eq)the distortion... sounds better than any combo of different tube amps dist. or any pedals. metal zone tube screamer blah blah even older boss models ive used, line 6 digitech ect.) (I mean tons of freaking amps and pedals tubes n blah blah I have no money because of gear obsession haha.)
Stomp of a button and i have a lead mid boost for solos to climb over the other guitars sound a little.top of that (using the wah pedal{which sounds better than my cry baby does!})
Stomp the next one and i have some delay or wah effects for solos on top of the boosted mids distortion (using the wah pedal for the wah effect{which sounds better than my cry baby does!}and a set delay.. blah blah)
It sounds way better than all my pedals ever could have haha. way too good. no hum or buz when i mute the strings. so many good distortions... had 2 leave the jam after 2 hours or so and left it with my gear at the jam space. but yeah easy 2 set up if u have half a brain. and sounds better than anything i have used in 15 years of constantly buying new gear for better sound. Makes me angry to have made such a good sound in 5 minutes that i was looking for in 15 years hahahah.

For all you tube lovers. im one of you haha and yeah yeah but this kicks ass. i still use yubes.. but this things distortions are way 2 good. gona be able to havea genuine and sick sound for every solo i have with this hah.

the LOOP STATION IS WICKED! stays in time n its easy 2 use. first try i made up random riff for a couple bars than clicked the button again. and start soloing to that riff ... endless things to do with this feature...

Plus dont you hate it when a noise supresor takes out some of your highs or u have like like 10 little cords all ur pedals r hooked up with sucking your sound away or you have so many power sources for pedals blah blah blah. its just better than anything ive used

its big bit smaller than i thought.. probably gona be worth it to build a plywood box around this with disatachable lid .its tough already though. but before that im going to move my amp stacks home tomorrow and probably wont leave the house for a good 2 days to program all my settings i want for it than bak to the jam space to see what this beast can really do. im gona try n push my other guitar player to get this 2 haha but im no salesman. this thing sold me...

Grow your hair, bang your head , buy Exodus and Testament albums and dont be a god damn poser...100% Thrash for life
POSTED: 10/24/2009 12:34am

I have been thinking about getting a GT 10 for a while now. I currently use a Digitech RP 350 which is ok for most of what I use it for. The only reason I want to upgrade is that I use the delay quite a lot and the band tend do get frustrated waiting for me to calculate the conversion of milliseconds to BPM.
My questions are 1. Will the tap delay on the GT10 solve this issue (can you change delay tampo on the fly with an assigned pedal and will it sync with the loop)? 2. Will I get much of an improvement in sound with the GT 10 rather than the RP 350?
I would appreciate any feedback as this is a big investment and I really only play as a hobby.
POSTED: 01/27/2010 04:31am

Heya CambE.
To answer your first question, yes, it should. You can also set the delay to BPM. I haven't delved into the delay too much, as when I use it, it is only to add sound, rather than be an integral part to the song. To answer your second question, it depends on how you use the GT-10. If you want great amp sims, then the upgraded digitech 355 and up might be want you want. They have a tap tempo function, I believe. The GT-10's are alright, but not for high gain. It takes a crap load of editing in order to get a GREAT sound. However, for effects, the GT-10 is going to offer much better sounds. Plus, you can switch where things go in signal chain, and that can really shape your tone. Look into the GT-10, but check out some tohers, since this one is still pricey. Hope it helps.
POSTED: 02/27/2010 02:16pm

all these canned reviews should be removed.

I just picked up one used for $195
I'd give it an 8/10. Good effects but one needs a degree in electronics engineering to figure it out. you are paying a lot for most features you'll never use.

This unit could be $200 new if they simplified it to do what 95% of guitarists will use it for.

Get a used one but pass on any of these new. the get 'old' real fast and lose their value
POSTED: 07/26/2011 01:46pm

mitchell.minami :
Does this pedal allow for manual tone modelling, as opposed to the EZ Tone? I like to do my own modelling, thank you.

EZ tone is for the inexperienced non-rocket scientist. It allows you to tweak everything.

My favorite feature are the assignable CTL pedals. They turn on/off multiple functions at once. For example, you can switch from amp A to B, turn off chorus, turn on delay, and add OD all with the tap of one CTL pedal. Or you can assign it to go into manual mode, or turn on the tuner, or set the tap tempo....and it has 2 CTL pedals btw, making each patch extremely customizable.

Only negative is that the foot pedal is too sensitive. When I want to turn up the volume, the wah comes on. When I want to use the wah, the volume goes up and down.
POSTED: 07/26/2011 02:26pm

Just got the pedal and I find it really easy to use! I'm not a technophobe but if there's too much to remember then I'm in trouble! However even I can programme this unit! Most of the tones ate pretty good... nice clean sounds and a fair whack of crunchy dirty sounds too! The acoustic sounds are first rate! I play a start thru mine and I'm quite impressed with the sounds the pedal gives! I haven't yet tried it thru my PA desk which I use on my solo gigs (I don't have a stage amp!) but it sounds well thru my 15W amp at home! As posted by someone else on here the lights are somewhat dazzling and the size of the unit is a bit big but it's very sturdy and looks to be hard wearing for all the stomping! 8/10 I'd say!
POSTED: 09/24/2011 10:27am

All the high mark reviews are very well deserved...this pedal is amazing. I would just say to those in doubt, all the high end ratings i've read are spot on to what i've experienced, but i would add the following: I like to play some ambient rock stuff too, and for ambient swells the GT-10's pedal was triggering too quickly for recording, and i was actually thinking of using an external pedal for wah or swells...but this amazing pedal actually has settings to adjust every aspect of the wah pedal trigger. This pedal allows you to do anything you want, this pedal plus it's incredibly user friendly manual will impress anyone...i would think. The one stupid negative i would give is the over bright buttons...that's it, other than that it's a 10(so 9.9)
POSTED: 01/07/2012 11:06pm

WATCH YOUR SETUP, AND BE NOT AFRAID, YOUNG PADAWAN:

Just bought this a few days ago, and after some initial disappointment, I'm falling in love.

I think much of that initial let-down had simply to do with my initial setup of the unit. Through my Crate gx-130c, the stock "preset" patches sounded like shit. There were some good chorus-y clean tones, but I didn't really find one distortion I liked, and many of the sounds just seemed too tinny, or noisy, unclear and useless. I flipped through like 30 banks and didn't like more than a handful of patches. I finally plugged in some headphones and everything sounded much better, which made me realize what the problem might be.

I now believe much of this was due to the pre-amp on the unit fighting with my amp's pre-amp, I tried going through the amp's effects loop, and have avoided using the pre-amp on the unit and having better results. Also be sure to specify your output device if you're not using the JC-120 it's set to by default.

Anyway, having just bought it, I didn't want to launch directly into programming and setup options, I just wanted to play and see what it could do! But, once I finally fixed the issues and set it up for my amp, things sounded far better.

And, I'm happy to report that despite the nearly endless level of customization available, on the whole, this unit is MUCH easier to tweak than my old ME-30 multi-FX. You can go as deep or basic as you want in adjusting effect settings...The different display options let you make basic changes in a wysiwyg-style interface with knobs, or go into list view and change even the most minute technical parameters.

Once I got into it, it only took me a couple minutes to dial in a bone-shatteringly crunchy, but crystal clear distortion tone. It makes me feel like Thor, god of thunder!

The point is, this thing is easily capable of creating a galaxy of mint tones, so don't despair if you don't like what you're hearing when you first plug it in! Just make sure it's setup for your gear, avoid dueling pre-amps, and don't be afraid to experiment with tweaking things to your liking. It's as easy as clicking an effect, turning some knobs, and double tapping "write." Happy strumming!
