Even through inexpensive SS amps, the cleans on this inexpensive guitar is pure Tele. Through an over-driven tube amp, nobody will think of it as a "cheap" guitar. You really need to try this on your favorite Mesa, Marshall, Fender, Laney, Orange, Traynor, Peavey, etc. tube amp. It can go as heavy as your favorite LedZep or Alice in Chains.
POSTED: 07/22/2008 09:35am

Used guitars in superior condition offer the best Bang for the $$$ for some people, an opinion. There are also discount coupons, etc. BTW, the scenario you chose is flawed in so many levels, an opinion.

I own a classic vibe '50s tele for almost a year now. I played like 50 different guitars since then and this one really stands out. Its quality matches the qualitiy of the Fender Baja telecasters, in my opinion, which are more expensive. The sounds great and the pickups seem to be quite noiseless, no humming whatsoever. I recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a tele.
POSTED: 08/01/2009 04:32am

Ive owned fender telecasters for years and i always looked down on squier. But honestly this thing sounds amazing. Change the head stock to say Fender and no one will tell the difference. Especially for the money. If you want to change the sound just swap the pickups. Better than spending 800 on the Baja and wanting to change the sound then your almost 900+ in but with the vibe your only 450. Great buy

The newly added review, submitted by unregistered on november 10, 2011, is another example why amateurs shouldn't write reviews. He rated the guitar a 7 for features, although this Tele Classic Vibe '50 has all the features of such a model. He rated it an 8 for the sound, although he doesn't have a proper amp to plug it into. He rated it an 8 for Action, Fit and Finsh, although he was stupid enoght to buy a scratched and badly working guitar from a music shop (!!!). And he complains about the price! And so on.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out the guys at GC sold him a guitar previously used for tests, taking advantage of his lack of knowledge.
In reality, such Tele Classic Vibes are better than any Fender Tele MIM. Your eyes closed, you can't tell the difference between one of these and an American Special, no matter if you only listen to it or play it too. It has the right timber, the right pickups, good hardware and an excellent playability. If an amateur gets a badly preserved one, it's only his fault. The first rule when buying guitars is to refuse any guitar showing finish flaws: either it was badly put together, or it was damaged during transport. It might also hide other flaws too.
POSTED: 11/10/2011 06:37am

First impressions on this Squier without playing it would be that, being a Squier, it's for beginners and cheap for a reason. I payed £280 for mine, from Mansons in Exeter, and so far it's been amazing in the 6 months I've had it. It sounds great, looks and feels like it should do. There is no way you could be justifiably dissapointed by this guitar, if this was sold to me as something much higher-end then I wouldn't have questioned it!
POSTED: 12/06/2011 05:41am

These newer MIC Squiers are giving the MIMs and some MIAs a run for their money. So far I have the '69 Thinline and the Pinecaster. Both were truly amazing right out of the box with just a couple of tweaks for action and intonation. Played through a Vox AC30, Bogner and even Line6 gear these guitars really give you that classic Tele "twang" and that Fender shimmery bell-like tone. You really can't go wrong for spending less than $300! Go get one!
POSTED: 05/04/2012 12:08am
