when you get to about 2 on the volume it is really loud, then when you go past 2 it hardly gets louder
i play metal, and if you do too and are thinking about getting this, dont, trust me
the distortion on this thing uninspires me cause it sounds like shit
the clean channel is decent

my recommendation, spend more and get a different amp

Thankfully the buzzing sound stopped about a week after I bought it. It's really bland and the clear channel is terrible. However, if you set the distortion right you can get a nice sound from it. Personally I like to add a little feedback to a song every now and then, and it's really easy to get it with this amp.

Too bad this amp sucks. So much I wrote my review in the comments section. 1* just for the distortion.

Don't buy it. Please.

Sure, it has a little hum noise, "crackings" and "hissings" but you can live with them.

I tested many amps in the same watt/price range, and this one doesn't let you down. It's sturdy and reliable. Extremely versatile.

The sound quality isn't perfect, but you can easily get that "classic rock" sound and feeling when you're playing, even with the drive effect off.

I always play with my Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster, and i just bought a Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion effects pedal.
The sound you can get out of this little amp... Amazing!

You should buy this amp in two situations:
- it's your first amp;
- you need a second, little amp.
If you are experienced and need a main amp, don't buy this one. But don't diss it if you do. You aren't being deceived by anyone -- neither Fender nor the store.

i wouldn't consider it much of an upgrade going from one 15w SS amp to another. in fact, you might as well not even "upgrade" to another SS amp, because you won't gain anything. you'll only want to replace it very soon. look into a small, low end tube amp. much better than SS.

Its a great practice amp, lasted like 3 years for me before the clean channel went kaput. but i never used that channel anyways, i just cranked the drive volume and turned the gain all the way down.

That doesn't mean its better than all the other amps in the world, quite the contrary. It's a good value for money

Actaully, to everyone who said its 15 watts...its 37. Okay for beginners, once I get my Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212 I'll use this thing as my mp3 player speakers. Distortions not too bad, cleans okay, tons of feedback.

ugh...that's input wattage...that's how many watts the damned thing uses...the OUTPUT wattage is 15...please know what you're talking about before you post ignorant comments...

you don't stage a 15 watt through a 2-3 watt amp if you want the 2-3 watt to come out unscathed...

If you want a good practice amp i would recommend a roland cube They are great i had/have one and love it, sadly its broken right now because it fell out of a car ....
