I traded in my JS1000 to get something that had a hard tail. This guitar is great for the price and can do just about anything you want it too. Don't forget that the tone nob pulls out to make the humbuckers act as a single coil.
POSTED: 06/26/2007 04:17pm

yes, I own it, bought it at guitar center for ~$400. It is an awesome guitar. I play mostly metal and other non-soft rock. Also some solo guitar. great finish; I got the red which is shiny and beautiful.
POSTED: 10/23/2007 09:23pm

i would highly recommend the gryphon over the omen 6, the omen is just a basic guitar and is in my opinion pretty crappy, the gryphon is far more versatile
POSTED: 05/13/2008 03:40pm

The schecter gryphon is a such an awesome guitar... I've played heavy/experimental metal on it for about two years and it's never done me wrong. It's always stayed in tune and sounded good, I have it in Ab standard and it is holding in tune fairy well, not to mention the strings are months old. I recommend it to anyone who wants to play metal or any kind of rock. I read somewhere though that they aren't being made anymore oh well. anywho... overall, GREAT guitar in my book for so cheap
POSTED: 01/05/2009 09:20pm

A seven string has a B string under the low E, allowing for lower playing suited to metal.
BURN YOUR DAMIEN. BUY THIS. PUT ACTIVE PICKUPS IN IT.
POSTED: 06/02/2009 10:35pm

definately. the omen 6 has a basswood body, but the gryphon is mahogany with a maple top, which is by far superior
POSTED: 02/06/2010 02:49pm

i have both the gryphon and the damien-FR. in terms of overall versatility, sound, and durability, the gryphon annihilates the damien. however, the damien has served me well for shows. i never gig without my trusty gryphon behind me though. if the gryphon breaks, gig's over, because that just means the gig wasn't meant to happen.
POSTED: 02/15/2010 10:14pm

If this guitar had a set-neck, it would be perfect.the guitar, while exceedingly rare, plays beautifully. The only problem is that as it ages, the neck takes a lot of fine adjustments, and eventually, you may run out of adjustment. Also, this is the most durable guitar ever. Don't even argue the point, it just is.
POSTED: 02/07/2013 11:20pm
