I am so pleased with this guitar. I actually returned my masterbuilt epiphone to the dealer when I seen this jumbo. I was very happy they gave me a credit and allowed me to return the masterbuilt. in addition i also played the 3,000 dollar gibson up on the wall and was very hard pressed to see the difference between the 400 dollar epiphone. cheers to this ej200 i am blown away. go get one today.
POSTED: 02/13/2007 09:19am

two weeks ago I purchased a used ej200 at my favorite local music store. it belonged to the owner and he let it go for 450.00 with case. an active preamp had been previously installed (150.00). I was so impressed with the sound and playability of this epiphone I couldn`t let the deal go by. I was in the market for a jumbo guitar and anticipated that I would have to pay much more to get what I wanted. nice sunburst finish and binding.
POSTED: 02/04/2008 05:04pm

Okay. The first one I got had a damaged top. It was bubbling up. The second was the one on display which I didn't take home. To be honest...the guys at Guitar center were the ones who noticed the scratches. The third needed a set up but now, with some light weight elixirs on it, I love it. It's bright and loud and crisp and the sustain goes on and on. The action is great and the neck is fast. I bought it for 349.
POSTED: 09/18/2008 07:45pm

Yes you can, you just need to put a pickup in it, which can either be done by putting a hole in the side, and running the cord from the pickup through, or just letting the cord hang out of the soundhole.

Putting the hole in makes it look cleaner, but i prefer to keep my guitars as is for the most part, unless its an electric and im replacing the pickups, but i stay away from actives.
POSTED: 12/16/2008 01:14pm

Thats really your preference, but as far as guitars go, I have never been impressed with Yamaha. Epiphone has more experience with instruments making it a much safer bet in quality, plus, you get excellent features and tonal range.
POSTED: 12/16/2008 01:16pm

For blues-rock its great, just don't try to pull of any metal techniques.
POSTED: 12/16/2008 01:17pm

Not wanting to be a fly in the ointment here, but both companies have been making musical instruments since the 1880's.
POSTED: 09/29/2009 09:46am

Hey guys,
I need a huge favor! Im a big Oasis/Noel fan and I am really interested in getting this guitar. Problem is, I'm not sure if I should get the Acoustic/Electric version of the EJ 200 or just the acoustic. I'm an intermediate guitar player but have only ever owned a single guitar and I really need to upgrade. I like playing a lot of Oasis' acoustic stuff and am not sure which one would be better. Also, what kinds of strings would be good for this guitar to get that Oasis acoustic feel?

Much appreciated if someone could help me out!

Thanks.

Hey, like you I'm a huge Noel fan. I bought the Electric/Acoustic version in the Vintage Sunburst finish (EJ200CE/VS) and absolutely love it. I lowered the action on it, even though it wasn't too bad out of the box and I use Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 11's which sound great.

For that "Noel" sound you may want to try Rotosound Super Bronze 10 gauge strings (formerly Country Golds) as those are apparently what he uses on his Gibson jumbo and his new Martin. I haven't tried them yet though, but I did just order some and will update to let you know how they sound.

This guitar sounds great through my Acoustic AG30 amp. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone! I paid $450 U.S. and couldn't be happier.
POSTED: 01/22/2012 04:48am

Sirs

I bought my Epiphone EJ-200CE N from Thomann Cyberstore in Europe, via their website. It reached me here in Melbourne, Australia, last Thursday after a 10-working day (2-week) shipping period.

Here are some salient details about my new guitar:-

1.	Made in Indonesia, with no date of manufacture.
2.	Top - solid Spruce.
3.	Back and sides – laminated.
4.	Physical dimensions – upper bout 320mm; lower bout 430mm; body height 525mm; body depth 105mm-120mm.
5.	Yes, it has stereo output, via a pair of ¼” sockets. And the main mono output is an endpin jack arrangement, i.e. it’ll also take the strap.
6.	The eSonic2 system uses a pair of lithium CR2032 3V “button” batteries.
7.	Superbly finished.

I couldn’t be happier with this, my first guitar.
