Just because you prefer the album more than I do doesn't make your word stronger than mine. And to say that "Dark is the Way" being a bad album is wrong to say as well, considering the rating on this website for it is pretty much the same as you Vital.

New Surrender is a good album. Breathe is one of the most touching acoustic songs I've ever heard and some of the later tracks really shine.

I think we're looking at the competition so wrong though. There are so many threads woven all throughout the album that are subtle nods and asides to previous work. It seems like a natural evolution from Cities rather than a successor to it. I dare say it's what New Surrender should have been.
