It's all just legal mumbo-jumbo because John Lennon is such a legend that people commonl refer to him as simply "Lennon". It could be seen that an artist simply using the name "Lennon" could detract from the legeng of John Lennon. Like I said, mumbo-jumbo.

1) Hearing John Lennon's name as if it were just a trademark is darn awful, especially since it's a statement by Yoko's attorneys. He was a human being for gods sake, not a brand!

2) Why the hell did she ask permission in the first place? According to her wikipedia page she was named after John by her parents so why did she seek permission to perform under her own name? "Lennon" is a very common name, especially in the UK. Hell, I know like 3 or 4 footballers who are called Lennon so what on earth makes her feel she´s special?

Yoko is stopping Lennon Murphy from getting the exclusive rights to the name Lennon for performance purposes. If you knew anything about music you would know that John Lennon's name would be one of the biggest names in music. Trying to get rights to the name "Lennon" just proves that Lennon Murphy is trying to cash in on the name he was given. I don't think the money is an issue for Paul and Ringo, and I think Yoko puts more effort into keeping a solid name than Paul and Ringo now have time for. I may not like her, but she deserves credit.

She's trying to keep the name of Lennon pure from people who want to take a shortcut to notoriety. Lennon Murphy made the first move to get legal rights, so it's completely fair that Yoko fight back legally if it's the only way from stopping her. If someone were cashing in on something you built, like the name of Lennon, you would be pissed too. In fact, you should be pissed because it's John Lennon we're talking about.
