It cost me £185 including shipping within mainland UK.

Ricknbacker325, you have to install the bundled software, Cubase LE, then simply plug your guitar into the G7 and use a USB cable to connect the G7 to the computer. The manual will tell you the rest, but the sound you have set on the pedal will be what's recorded onto the computer. Make sure you download and activate (within Cubase LE) the ZOOM ASIO driver to eliminate latency problems.

Whilst you can make drum loops using the MIDI editor in Cubase LE, there isn't actually a drum machine included in the pedal, and I've contacted UG to get the synopsis changed.

Yes, i agree with shakysam. No drum machine is included in this pedal, only with the G2.XX versions.
If you want drum machine, use a third party software/hardware interface.
POSTED: 06/01/2006 06:26am

It cost me £180 with free shipping within mainland U.K.

It doesn't have a drum machine and UG have now corrected their synopsis. If you want a drum machine, perhaps consider the cheaper G2.1u, which has one built-in. It lacks all the features of the G7, but uses the same processing chip.

Ricknbacker325, it's a standard multi-fx pedal that also comes with recording software, Cubase LE. You simply connect the pedal to the computer (PC or Mac) with a usb cable, then plug your guitar into the pedal and record using Cubase. Whatever the patch sound of the pedal is set to is what's recorded onto the computer. Just make sure you download and select the ZOOM ASIO driver to use with the program to eliminate latency problems.

Hope that helps, if you have any more questions feel free to PM me,
Sam

(and I tried posting this twice earlier today but it failed, so if this post appears 3 times then I apologise)

Oh tits, I sodding hate my PC!

Anyway Jpitcairn, you have to connect the output jack from the pedal to your computer speakers instead of having them connected to the PC, as with the driver activated, the output signal that would normally go to the sound card gets sent back to the pedal.
POSTED: 06/01/2006 02:56pm

I bought the G7.1ut about three months ago and I have one question, how do I set this thing up so I can have a pre-amp programmed and be able to kick in some chorus or delay for a solo? I have a fender hot rod deville which sounds good by itself but it has to be cranked to get that sweet tube dist. so I bought this to compensate for the volume factor....not to mention the fx.
Please help!!
POSTED: 08/27/2006 02:35am

personally louwen i'd say get the g9, the extra models and pedals, extra tube circuit etc are well worth that extra bit of cash, even if you dont use them...its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it no? the preset sounds on them are kinda suck though, you'd be better off programming them all from scratch by yourself, thats what ive done :]
POSTED: 09/16/2006 08:53pm

You can do that by turning both the effect knobs all the way down AFTER you select an amp model (clean for example) and then overwrite the default preset patch with the new one (the one with no effects). Read the manual, it explains it clearly.

I have the same amp but im getting a new Roland Cube next week, alongwith a G9.2tt WOOOT !!!
POSTED: 08/25/2007 02:56pm

To RIPRory,
this pedal does have a whammy, but in my opinion, it's not that great. It too glitchy for me, but a digitech whammy pedal is pushing the price mark.
Overall, it is a fantastic pedal, but things like the whammy or octave effects aren't that good.

btw the whammy is controlled by the expression pedal.
POSTED: 02/10/2009 06:56pm

I have had this pedal a while, two things. There are soooo many different options it takes ages to get a good sound but the clean ones are immense. Theyre so soft and rounded theyre great. Secondly use this website, I found it from this review thread and it has helped so much with how to use the pedal

depends on which album, for typical poeple looking for a AFD album sound then Slash used a modified Marshall amp with a handcrafted Les Paul by some guy in LA. Also he himself has said that he cannot get a better sound from any guitar or amp from the ones he had on AFD. However with this, which I bought last week I can get good rich tone and when I play Sweet Child O Mine it is quite similar. (I play an Ibanez through a Marshall 100)
POSTED: 12/26/2009 09:45pm

Would this be good going into a pa directly. Because i purchased the 2fx the silver one with the wah attachment, and when i pluged it in, all of the distortions were fuzzy. So for 2 years now ive been stuck with the digitech rp90 and it sucks. I have leaerned that if u plug in a dist pedal with no added gain, it allows you to push those light distortions to a harder level. But i know line6 and boss are really good, but i would like to buy the 7.1 to use for the rest of highschool, then buy a really nice one when i get out. Any other suggestions that are in the $200 range??
POSTED: 01/03/2011 04:00pm

This pedal is a piece on SH*T. If you are a beginner don't buy this pedal. You'll be dead by the time you'll get a good distortion sound. Only good thing about this pedal is the large amount of nice clean sounds. Distortion sounds are f**ked up. Bought it a year ago and i deeply regret i did it.
POSTED: 08/16/2011 07:45am
