Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Passes Away at 46, Musicians React
The movie world was caught in a state of shock yesterday as actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York home at the age of 46.

As BBC reports, drug overdose is the likely cause of death. The Oscar winner was known for his roles in such hit features as the "Big Lebowski," "Boogie Nights," "Mission Impossible III," "The Boat That Rocked" and more recently the "Hunger Games" series.

The actor's body was found by the police at 11:30 a.m. with a syringe in his arm. The nearby envelope contained what is believed to be heroin. The family soon issued an official statement, saying, "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving. Please keep Phil in your thoughts and prayers."

Hoffman wasn't only mourned by the film and theatre community, as a vast array of prominent rockers shared their condolences via Twitter. You can find some of their posts below.
