frontman Alex Turner
recently discussed the popular "Breaking Bad
" TV series, pointing out that writing music for the show comes as a great desire to him.
"I would love to write music for 'Breaking Bad,'"
Alex told NME
. "But I think I've ran out of time unfortunately, there's only a couple of episodes left. It's the end - they've got music for them already."
Turner even talked some of his favorite moments from the series. "I think it was the last series and it was that character Mike. And he goes
[mimics hand movement] 'Keys, a--hole.' It's a universal symbol for keys - my favorite line,"
he explained. "Very well written, 'Breaking Bad,' they're doing very well those guys."
The latest Arctic Monkeys studio effort, "AM
," dropped on September 9 via Domino Records. As the band's fifth consecutive Number One, the record made chart history in UK
, topping charts in eight countries around the globe.
In Turner's words, the new album "sounds like a Dr. Dre beat, but we've given it an Ike Turner bowl-cut and sent it galloping across the desert on a Stratocaster."
"Essentially, that's what it is,"
he added. "But if you can find a way to manipulate the instruments or the sounds to the point where it sounds a bit like a hip-hop beat that'd be boss in your car, then I think there's something quite cool about that."
